HAMPTONVILLE- The Rev. Wendell Lee Burns, 69, passed away Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009.
He was born in Ashtabula, Ohio to the late Arvel and Pauline Clark Burns on Aug. 23, 1940.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Hines Burns; four brothers, Arvel Burns, Robert Burns, Earl Burns, and Carl Burns; and a sister, Marjorie Burns Brown.
Surviving are his two daughters, the Rev. Sherri Burns of Mt. Airy, and Carol Burns of Ashtabula, Ohio; a son, the Rev. Lee Burns of Hamptonville; a grandson, Robert Burns and wife, Jamie, of Hamptonville; and a great-grandson, Ryan Burns of Hamptonville; and a sister, Audrey Burns Seese of Mogadore, Ohio.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Sept. 20, at 2 p.m. at Mountain Grove United Methodist Church in Hamptonville with Brother William Souther officiating.
