The "James and Mary" was mastered (captained) by John Workman, sailed from Larne, Ireland 25 Aug. 1772.
"Lord Dulunce" Mastered by James Gillis, sailed from Larne, Ireland, 4 Oct 1772.
"Pennsylvania Farmer" mastered by. C. Robinson, sailed from Belfast 16 Oct. 1772.
"Hopewell" mastered by J. Ash, sailed from Belfast, 19 Oct. 1772.
"Free Mason" mastered by John Semple, sailed from Newry, 27 Oct. 1772.
Any who are listed, sailed on one of these ships.
They were parishners or friends of parishners of the Rev. William Martin. His ships were filled with people from villages:
Ballymoney (where Rev. Martin served)
Ballymena
Kellswater
and
Vow, all in County Antrim, Northern Ireland.
Presbyterians were usually Scots who had been forced to migrate to Northern Ireland, by order of British government.
All passengers were listed in South Carolina Gazettes as receiving upon arrival, land surveys.....which were listed in those old newspapers during the months following arrival which ran from Dec. 1772 through Feb. 1773.
