The Richland County Public Library has a searchable database of obituaries from The State Newspaper. 1936 is a year that they do not have indexed yet. The library is in the process of indexing additional years and add them when completed. Here is the link.

You have a good date on her death so the library might look it up for you. You can use the link above and request a copy if you wish. The library recently begin charging a fee for copies obituaries so make sure you consider that also.
