I am looking for information on a convict camp in Wood co., TX. A family member (from Alabama) was listed on the 1880 Federal Census under Precinct 2, Convict Camp, Wood Co. TX. He was listed as a convict guard with head of household Sgt. Jeff Kelley. Does anyone have information on the camp or Sgt. Kelley. My relative is buried in Alabama. Unknown if he died in TX or AL. Thanks for any help.
