If you have an ancestor who was an Irish Famine Immigrant and died in the State of Vermont I can possibly find them for you in this book. Please e-mail me their name/s and give me some time and I'll let you know if I find anything.
I'm just passing on good works which others have done and continue to do for me.

Thanks for your offer to lookup info on people who came immigrated due to the Irish famine.

I am looking for the origin and ancestry of members of the MulHolland/MunHolland family that resided in St. Albans, VT and surrounding area from about 1850 to at least 1880. 1860 Census for St. Albans list family name as “McHolland” while 1870 Census lists as “Manhattan”. Other spellings for this family name include: Mulhulm, ManHolland , MulHollon, and MunHollon. They may or may not have come from Ireland.

The MulHolland / MunHolland family as I know it:

Joseph MunHolland Abt. 1822 Scotland - __________ (possibly Ireland)
1st wife: Ellen Abt. 1816 Ireland
2nd wife: Marie Shaw Abt. 25 May 1819, England - 02 Jul 1873, St. Albans, VT

And their children:

Matilday MunHolland 11 May 1850 _____, VT - 01 Apr 1871, prob. St. Albans, VT
Helen MunHolland 28 Nov 1850 St. Albans, VT - 28 Nov 1921 Danville, VT
John MunHolland Abt. 1851 _____, VT - Aft. 01 Apr 1871, _____
James MunHolland Abt. 1853 _____, VT - Aft. 01 Apr 1871, _____
Lucinda Marie MunHolland Jul 1855 St. Albans, VT - 25 Apr 1925 West Danville, VT
Sarah MunHolland Abt. 1855 _____, VT -
Adalaide MunHolland Abt. 1858 _____, VT - Aft. 1880, _____
Charles MunHolland Abt. 1860 _____, VT -
Joseph MunHolland Abt. 1862 _____, VT –

Also looking for the parents of Marie Shaw (above): Robert and Mary (Earle) Shaw and grandfather, Rev. John Earle, originally from Appleby, Westmoreland, England.

Thanks for your help.

Hi,
I looked up each and every name that you gave me and no one was listed. In order to be in this book a person had to be born of Irish birth, no later than 1855 and have died and been buried in Vermont.
I'm sorry I couldn't help - good luck in your search.

There are 20 of them - are you able to narrow it down a bit for me-first names, towns perhaps?? If not, I'll give them all to you, it jut may take a little time.

I would very much like to know if you have any Carrigans or Daleys in the book. Patrick Carrigan arrived sometime before 1850. He is in Northfield VT in 1850 and 1860 and in Randolph VT in 1870 and 1880 and died sometime before 1900. His wife was Mary Daley and her father was John Daley. Mary died in Randolph but is buried in MA . I do not know where or when Patrick died.
Thank you very much for offering to do these lookups. I can not find Patrick Carrigan on any list of immigrants and would like to find out where he came from and when he arrived. Thank you. Jean

Jean,
While I did find 3 Patrick Carrigans in the book none of them fell into the dates you gave nor were married to anyone named Mary Daley. I also could find no mention of a John Daley who would have been the age of Mary Daley's father. So sorry, best of luck on your continued search.
