Not sure if anyone has replied to this in the past couple of years, but there is currently a Chris Hansen residing in Mansfield, WA. There is also a Bill Bayless family there. Although spelled differently than your query, it might be the same family.

Re: Buell Rash, Mansfield, WA law enforcement ofcr in 1940s

Concerning law enforcement work, Buell's death certificate shows "Deputy Sheriff". So, his agency would have been the Douglas County Sheriff's Office. You could write to that department, "Attention: Historian".
110 NE 2nd Street, Suite 200
East Wenatchee, WA 98802
509-884-0941

Concerning Harold, there is a lot of information about him in census and also three different family trees. He (age 5) and "I Marie" (age 4 0/12) were in the 1920 Census with other siblings and parents Bruce L and Flora A Rash (both born in Iowa). He was identified fully as Harold Wendell Rash, born 16 June 1914. Father Bruce Lewis Rash, born 10 January 1884 in Union, Union County, IA, to both parents born in Iowa.

I guess my question concerns a family relationship you idientified between Harold to Buell Rash. Harold's parents were born in Iowa. The below information shows Buell was born in Missouri to father born in Indiana, mother in Missouri. I didn't see any family relationship between these two Rash families. There was also a William R. Rash, born North Carolina, that obtained land in the regional area in 1909 through the Homestead Act. That family is not related, although William and his family did live in Missouri. Unless you can connect the families back further than the parents of Harold and Buell, they might not have been related.

The below is some additional work on Buell's family:

The Washington Death Certificate Index:
--Rose Edith Rash, died 4 July 1960 in Wenatchee, Chelan Co, WA, age 71 years (1888/1889), her parents were Eli Collins and Margaret Marson.
--I found nothing for Isom/Isem/Isam.

The Washington Digital Archives: http://www.digitalarchives.wa.gov/default.aspx
Buell W. Rash, buried in the Fraternity Cemetery on August 24, 1994, Section 1, Block 84, Grave #4.
Elva H. Rash, buried April 11, 2000, Grave #3.

The 1900 Census for York, Putnam Co, Missouri
James T. Rash, born April 1852 in Indiana to father born in IN, mother in Kentucky, married 26 years, farmer.
Sarah T, Oct 1855 in Missouri to father born in Indiana, mother not identified. mother of 13/11 living
Charles S, Oct 1880
Claud B, Nov 1883
Iva/Ova? B. August 1885
--Isem(as spelled) W, June 1887
Fred E, July 1889
Emma, Aug 1890
Elsie Dec 1892
Mary April 1894
Viena, daughter, Sept 1896.

The 1910 Census for Sherman, Putnam Co, MO
Isom/Isem W, 22, born in Missouri to father born in Virginia, mother in IN
Rose E, 21, born in Missouri to both parents born in Virginia

The 1920 Census for Myers, Grundy County, MO
Transcribed as "Icani W. Rask", age 32, farmer.
Edith R, age 31
Robert E, age 9 (1910/1911, census enumerated 5 January, so he was "probably" born in 1910).
Buell W, age 5
--All persons shown as born in Missouri, to all parents born in MO.

So, it appears Buell had a brother, Robert E., The Missouri Death Certificate Index 1910-1958 did not have his name. The WA Death Certificate Index did not either.

I checked the Bureau of Land Management database of land obtained under the Homestead Act. There was a William R. Rash that obtained land in Okanogan County through the Waterville land office, he had come from Missouri. Further checks identified he was living in Wheatland, Hickory County, MO in 1900. Born in North Carolina. Other reviews indicate he was not related.
--There was no land obtained by the correct Rash family members.
Oh, posted to soon.

To obtain a copy of an obituary:
The Washington State Library has a free research service, the ask-a-librarian program, where they will look for information in the archives, in this case the newspaper microfilm for an event, such as an obituary. They will look up to an hour and send you the results. Contact them at: http://www.secstate.wa.gov/library/ask.aspx .
The Douglas County Recorder identified four documents recorded under the name of Buell Rash. A Death Certificate was recorded on 4/13/2000. The actual Death Certificate identified he was born on March 2, 1914 in Powersville, MO; died August 19, 1994 in Waterville, at 208 N. Columbia. He was married to Elva Vetter. His father was I.W. Rash, mother Edith Collins. He was buried in the Waterville Cemetery. The certificate identified other medical information.

Click on my name at the top left corner of this post, and use the email address to contact me. I can email a copy of the DC, or you can print one from the Recorder directly via: http://www.douglascountywa.net/oncoreweb/default.aspx

Ron Bestrom
Tacoma, WA

hI,
iN 1910 Buell's parents Isom and Rose were living in Sherman, Putnam Co., Missouri.
Isom W. Rash, b. MO, 22 yrs old, marr 1 yr, general farmer.
Rose E., wife, b. MO, 21.

In 1930 the family was living in Rock Island, Douglas Co., WA.
Isam W. Rash, b. MO, 42, marr @ 21, fruit farmer.
Rose E., b. MO, 40, marr @ 20.
Buel W., b. MO, 16.

Buell was living in Waterville 1993-96.

Harold W. Rash died 18 Nov 2002, Portland. His social sec # was assigned to him in Alaska before 1951. Source: Social Secuirty Death Index.

In 1920 Harold was living with his parents and siblings in Wenatchee.

I'd request a copy of his obituary from Washington State Library (because of RootsWeb policy I can't provide the web address). Takes about 10-14 days but free.

Wenatchee Area Genealogy Society (WAGS) who charges a small fee. They also do research for a reasonable fee. They have County Directories.

Another resource is the Douglas County Museum, Waterville, 124 W. Walnut, Waterville 98858. They are closed in the winter but do respond to mailed inquiries.

I checked Washington State Digital Archives but didn't find any marriage info. However, not all of the marriage records have been loaded into their database yet. Successful Searching & Happy New Year!

Does anyone have any information about a relative of mine who served as a law enforcement officer in Mansfield, Washington during the 1940s? He was born in 1914 and passed away in 1994. He is buried in Waterville, WA. His name was Buell Rash. He grew up with my great uncle Harold Rash (born in Mansfield in 1914, died in Portland, Oregon approx. 2003) and my great aunt Marie Rash (born in Mansfield in 1915, died in Seattle 1993).

Joyce,
As a volunteer for RAOGK, you should know specific information on the person you seek, such as DOB, family names, and what info you have. Do you have the obits of her brothers and sisters? What info do you have on her after 1937? OR...are you JUST looking for someone knowing her in 1937 in Wenatchee? Since that was 72 years ago, chances are slim someone remembers her.

You "probably" have the below, I didn't and needed it for research purposes.

The 1920 Census for Portland, Multnomah Co, Oregon, living at 4630 63rd Street:
Charles W. Johnston, age 43, born in Iowa to both parents born in Pennsylvania, plumber.
Maude, age 39, born in Oregon
Winifred 13
Imogene 11 (Born circa 1908/1909)
Ralph 9
Mary 9
Benjamin 7
Ethel, age 8/12.
-all children born in Oregon
--Census enumerated 13 January, so Ethel born about April 1919.

I find two family trees on Ancestry.com with Imogene that matches your info AND the census data on this family. Identified the link in the event you have Ancestry.com, if not possibly thru your local library.

1. Owned by b314clipper,
http://trees.ancestry.com/pt/person.aspx?pid=-1208996419&amp...=
since you have anonymous address on Rootsweb, I can't know if this is you or someone else; thus, I did not send a message to theis person. This tree showed:
Imogene Arlete Johnston, born 3 May 1908 in Portland, married Milo D. Gibson (1904-30 August 1974). Imogene died 27 Feb 1975. No children identified.

2. Owned by Klveimer50
http://trees.ancestry.com/pt/person.aspx?pid=-609715683&...=
Basic the same as above.

If you are not either of the above, either may or may not have information.

Ron Bestrom

Rose,
What additional do you know about these two? A date of birth, place of birth would help. If you have knowledge of Anna after he died, "Died before 1920", that might help. The Marriage Certificate is typed, thus not subject to handwriting evaluation, but there could have been a typo or other errors. Milford could have been Wilford? Sanford as Sandford? Any additional you have might help.

The Bureau of Land Management has a database for Land purchased under the Homestead Act:
http://www.glorecords.blm.gov/
Click on "Search Land Patents".
It shows a John Zickler obtaining 160 acres of land in Grant County on 9/21/1908. The land was in the Willamette Meridian, Township 22-North, Range 30-East, Section 34, the SW corner. I can show you how to find this property if there is a connection.
--The 1910 Census for Krupp, Grant Co, WA
John Zickler, age 41, born in Germany
Anna, 36, born in Germany, mother of 6, 4 living.
follows are four children, none were Anna, one was Elsie age 16, per an online family tree, she married a Booker C. James.
--A son was William Zickler, a William Zickler was a witness to the marriage, but this one was born in 1896, making him 12 by 1908.
Census enumerated 10-12 May.
--There were other Zickler's in Grant County in the 1910 Census, but difficult to determine which

There was no purchase by a Milford/WIlford/etc. Sanford; but there was one for Frank, if that was his middle name, of 80 Acres on 4/11/1912.

There was a William Zickler, born 1889 in Montana, living in Everett, WA in the 1910 Census. In the 1900 Census, he was living in Gem, Shoshone County, Idaho, with siblings and parents Louis and Annie Zickler. Was this Annie, his mother, who married Sanford? This Annie was born April 1865 in Germany.

Other than that, any attempt without further identification of your known facts would only be speculation. There is no proof given that they lived after 1908 in Hicksville, or taking it further, that they lived in Washington. You may have additional to help resolve this block.
Hi Rose,
I found Milford and Anna's marriage license in the Washington State Digital Archives but I didn't find anything definite about them which surprizes me since they married in 1908.

I checked the Wenatchee Area Genealogy Society's index of Chelan and Douglas County cemeteries but didn't find Anna or Milford Sanford.

I did find an Anna Sanford b. 10 Dec 1884, Last Residence=Spokane, WA 99216 who died September 1969. Her soc. sec. # was assigned in WA in 1964. Source: Social Security Death Index, www.ancestry.com.

I found an Allyn M. Sanford b. abt. 1890 who died in Spokane 13 Jan 1948 per death cert #1395. Source: WA Death Index 1940-96, www.ancestry.com.

I'd look up Anna Sanford's obituary first since that's the more promising name. You can request a copy of an obituary in Spokane County from Random Acts Genealogical Kindness, www.raogk.org, read instructions, choose Washington, choose Spokane County, Becky.

If that doesn't work out, the Washington State Library, www.secstate.wa.gov/library/ask.aspx , will look for an obituary up to 60 minutes at no charge in the newspaper microfilm. They will email you about what they do or don't find and it takes about two weeks.

I'm also trying to find out about the town of Hicksville that they were married in.
in looking at the 1930 census for Douglas Co, there lists a township of Bridge. Does anyone know if that was a short spelling for Bridgeport, or was there actually a town of Bridge

Neither one. Bridge Precinct is what later became the city of East Wenatchee. It was the area around the east end of the first bridge across the Columbia River to Wenatchee. Please note that Douglas County never had townships, Bridge was an election precinct.

>>The other poster said:
The Hamilton Cemetery is a private family cemetery located on the lower slope of Badger Mountain. Unfortunately because of its isolation, vandals have done their damage over the years but now a gate has been put up which deters all except those who hike in. I've always wondered about the Hamilton family who started it. Must have been Wiley's ancestors.

That is the Badger Mountain Cemetery:
http://terraserver-usa.com/image.aspx?T=2&S=15&Z=10&...
Badger Mountain:
http://geonames.usgs.gov/pls/gnispublic/f?p=116:3:1528346591...

The Hamilton Cemetery: To reach cemetery go north on Eastmont Ave. After 1 1/2 miles from 15th St NE on the road to Fancher Field, turn right on dirt road, (Sand Canyon).
http://terraserver-usa.com/image.aspx?T=2&S=14&Z=10&...

If Wiley and Dora were born in Kentucky, it may have been their cemetery, or related to the original owner; but probably not one of their ancestors. Perhaps since you live in East Wenatchee you could visit the Genealogy Society and ask. I don't live there and don't believe people that don't live in an area should be doing the genealogy in that area. That should be left for competent local researchers.
I see this is your first posting on Rootsweb (at least under this user name). In future postings, identify what information you have on a person, date of birth, place of birth, most important. If you don't, identify parents, siblings, children, something for a research helper to grasp onto. This wasn't important in this case, as there was only one person by this name in Washington; but had it been "John", that would have really slowed down the search.

I also found your family tree online, so I know you have the census information. Most researchers will also look at what is in that census to identify children, etc. Especially, if you don't name names.
--Your tree identified his wife as "Ada", I could only find "Dora", except in the death certificate. Dora is there also and is buried with Wiley. Was she a second wife?
--The Wiley Dean Hamilton in your family tree, was born 12/16/1937. His father would have been 56/57, Dora about the same age, or was his a different mother? The Social Security Death Index has a W.D. Hamilton, born 16 Dec 1937/Died Jan. 1989 in Nebraska. I don't find a connection.
--- I do find an Adah Hyslop in the 1900 census, born June 1889 in Nebraska, living in Harrison & Robb Precincts, Gosper Co, Nebraska, parents William and Nettie

You had the census, I had to look:
The 1910 Census on Ancestry-to light, on Heritage Quest:
Wiley, 30?, born Kentucky (KY)
Dora 31?
Mary 5
Addie 2
The 1920 Census for Wenatchee, Chelan Co, WA
Wiley, age 39 (circa 1881), born in Kentucky, grocer
Dora L, 35 (circa 1885), KY
Mary 15, KY
Addie 12, born in Washington
William C. 9, WA
Belva, 5, WA
Alice 11/12, census enumerated January, so Alice born about February 1919. Born in WA.

The 1930 Census for Wenatchee
Wiley D, age 49 (circa 1881)
Dora, 47
Addie, 22
Belva 15
Alice 11 (census enumerated in April)

The 1930 Census for the Washington State Reformatory, Park Place, Snohomish County, WA
Cletus W. Hamilton, inmate, age 18, born in WA to both parents born in KY, laborer, lawn crew.

Washington Birth Index. To: Wiley D and Dora Willis
Cletu?? Hamilton, born 11 May 1911, male (probably Cletus William)
Unnamed 6 July 1914, female. (probably Belva)

Washington Death Certificate Index:
Wiley Hamilton died 22 Feb 1939 in Seattle, King County, at age 55 years, 11 months, 27 days (This would have been March 15, 1883). Married to Ada Hamilton, father was Jack Hamilton, mother Phoebe Ellen Patton.
--Dora Lou Hamilton, did 20 May 1959 in Wenatchee, Chelan County, WA at age 76 years, father was William Willis, mother Elizabeth Powers.
--The World War I Draft Registration Card image database shows Wiley D. Hamilton was born 15 Mar 1878. (Married to Dora).
--So, between the Census, Death Certificate and WWI Draft, there is difference up to 5 years

The Chelan County Recorder document search http://www.co.chelan.wa.us/ad/adr_main.htm
has:
NOTE: These may or may not be the correct persons, By clicking on the names, there are images; they either are not working tonight, or no images due to the age of the documents. Additional proof must be obtained to verify.
--Cletus W. Hamilton, marriage application 5/4/1936 to Jessie Thelma Mohn. Marriage application 4/5/1949 to Iryne E. Annis.
--Ada Hamilton, marriage application to Ottis Adams 4/22/1939. "IF this is Ada, the wife of Wiley at his death, she certainly didn't wait too long.

Social Security Death Index:
Cletus Hamilton, born 11 May 1911, died July 1976, last residence in Wenatchee.
WA Death Index, died 10 Jul 1976 in Douglas County.
--The Social Security Death Index "last residence" does not necessarily mean that was where the person lived, but where a final payment (death payment) was sent. Or, the location where the person/company was located that notified the Social Security Administration of the death.

Your tree didn't show, but you may have:
Here is a listing of obituaries for Hamilton.
Thank you for the reply. I did get copies of the birth certificates I wanted from Waterville.

My Grandfather was Leo C. Koenig, my Grandmother Emile (Hartwig) Koenig. Their children were August, Dorothea (my Mother), Eric, Martha, Emma and Paul. They were all born on the homestead in Douglas. If there is any information you can give me on any of the Koenigs or tell me where to go it would be very much appreciated. How do I get in touch with the local genealogical society?

Thank you for your research and suggestions. I do have obituaries for Chris and Meta Hansen which seem to confirm the other information I provided. My main interest is the parents of Meta given, as you noted, in the state index as Marisness and Esther. I found Meta in the 1900 Census in Seattle with a Marinus Lassen, probably her father (he listed as widowed). In the 1910 and 1920 Census she is living with Hans and Annie Lassen in Hayward, Calif., they being her adoptive parents. I suspect Hans was a brother of Marinus. I have found no death or burial record for Marinus or his wife Esther. Meta's obituary said she was born in Sacramento, Calif., in 1897. That is about all I have. Thanks again. Any further suggestions welcome

You will have more success in assistance if, when you post, you would identify specific information on who you seek, especially the date of birth, place of birth, etc. Also post what information you already have, such as census data, where/when children were born, what information you have on the spouses of the children, etc. The likelihood that you will receive help from a researcher is much more than actually finding a family member. So, help out the researcher.

But, your data did give somewhat of a start into research:

The Social Security Death Index (SSDI) shows a Chris Hansen, born 11 July 1891, died Sep 1963. His Social Security Number (SSN) was 534-09-4189, issued in WA before 1963. There was no further information.
--You can request a copy of his original application for his SSN through the Social Security Administration. That would show the names of his parents, where he was living at the time of submission and other information.

The Washington Death Index did not show his name. But, the online WDI did not show ANYONE with a death in 1963 on Ancestry.com.

The World War I Draft Registration Card Image Database:
For that date of birth, there was a Chris Benton Hansen, born July 11, 1891 in Ironwood(?), Michigan, living in Seattle. He was a Baker at the Georgetown Bakery (Georgetown is an area just in the south of Seattle).
---BUT, the following basically could disprove the above person is the person you seek. Unless you have specific information on "your" Chris Hansen, the person on the SSDI could be this person and not "your" Chris Hansen. The date of birth on this wrong Chris Hansen is the same as the person dying in Sep 1963.

--You would need an obituary to prove otherwise. Do you have the obituary of "your" Chris Hansen? You can have a search conducted free through the Washington State Library, they look for one hour; BUT, you would need to know the exact date of death and place of death/or where an obit was published.

---"your" Chris Hansen-------

The 1920 Census for Saint Andrews, Douglas County, WA
Chris Hansen, age 28 (circa 1891/1892), born in Denmark, immigrated in 1910, naturalized in 1918, farmer
Meta E, age 22, born in California
"Ditlev" P. , brother, age 26, born in Denmark, immigrated in 1911, farmer

The 1930 Census for Burke, Douglas County, WA
Chris HansOn (with an "O"), age 38, born in Denmark, immigrated 1910, farmer renting his land, was first married at age 27 (circa 1918/1919)
Meta E, age 33 (Circa 1896/1897), born in California to both parents born in Denmark, first married at age 21 (1917/1918...so between the two, "probably" 1918).
Meta C, dau, 9 (circa 1920/1921)
Agnes E, 7 (circa 1922/1923)
Anna B, 6 (circa 1923/1924)
Richard S.W. 4 6/12 (census enumerated April 8/9 1930, so born circa Oct 1925)
Hans, brother, age 45. born in Denmark

The Washington Death Certificate Index shows Meta Esther Hansen Died 27 March 1937 in Wenatchee, Chelan County, WA, at age of 40 years, 2 months and 4 days (1897). She was married to Chris. her father was Marisness Lassen, mother Esther.

I found no Christine Bayliss in Washington.
I found an Agnes O Graves, (middle initial "O" does not match) in Seattle.
I found no Anna Shutter in Washington, none born circa 1923 death in the USA.

----posted family tree------
I found two submitted family trees having Meta Esther Lassen. One submitted by b_aa@hotmail.com updated August 2001. The other by baaj@sol.dk (dk indicates an email address of Denmark) updated March 2001. So the email address may be old.

The information in the trees indicate Meta was born 23 January 1897 in Denmark an died 27 March 1937 in Wilbur, Washington. She was married to Kristian Hansen, born 5 September 1891 in Skonager, Næsbjerg Sogn, Denmark and died 2 December 1963 in Mansfield, Washington.
--Note: For Meta, the date of death matches the WA Death Certificates, but not the place. The date of death for Chris does not match the SSDI or your date.

The b-aa@hotmail data shows Agnes married to Richard E. Graves, and "AnnaBelle" married to Aksel Schutter, born in Denmark.
------------------

The 1930 Census for Manson, Chelan County, shows an Ernest Schutter, born Germany with wife Marie and son Walter-born 1918.
--The Washington Death Index shows a Florence M Schutter, death in Wenatchee in 1987 at age 1908, residence in Douglas County. Also, a Prosper J. Shutter, death in Wenatchee on 10 August 1990 at age 85, residence in Douglas County.

So, basically, there isn't any "confirmed" information on this family since 1937. The death date of Chris as you have was Sep 1963, but there is also another person that could have been this individual. The person having the family tree data shows the date of death as Dec 1963, but there is no information to confirm that data.

If you have specific date of deaths on ANY of the family, you could try:
The Washington State Library has a free research service, the ask-a-librarian program, where they will look for information in the archives, in this case the newspaper microfilm for an event, such as an obituary. They will look up to an hour and send you the results. Contact them at: http://www.secstate.wa.gov/library/ask.aspx . Depending on the amount of requests, it could take up to a couple of weeks.
-If interested you can look at the catalog of holdings at: http://www.secstate.wa.gov/library/microfilm.aspx

For genealogy help, there isn't much in Douglas County
http://genealogytrails.com/wash/douglas/index.html
http://www.genealogylinks.net/usa/washington/Douglas.htm

Mansfield today has a population of 320.

Not much on this family, perhaps you have additional?

Ron Bestrom

The phone number provided by JudyArtley (SHOTGUN) is for the COURT Clerk. Unless the birth occured in Court, there won't be a record for it with the County Clerk. A County Clerk is almost always the COURT clerk.

What you are needing is a BIRTH record, not a Court Record. For births AFTER 1907, the record would be found at the Washington State Department of Health:
http://www.doh.wa.gov/EHSPHL/CHS/cert.htm

For the record you seek, in 1903, it "may" be still at the County level, for Douglas County, see:
http://www.doh.wa.gov/EHSPHL/CHS/issuing_co.htm

Shotgun, I have sent this information regarding "Court House" searches several times to your postings. Please note WHO does WHAT in the "Court House". A County Recorder, County Assessor, County Heath/Vital Records, are not always in the "Court House".

Also, since Shotgun didn't say, here is the link for the Washington State Archives...you may get lucky:
http://www.digitalarchives.wa.gov/default.aspx

Sorry for any Problems encountered.... ...

Ron Bestrom

OK. In addition to being in Montana in 1900, you can find him in 1910 in Chelan Falls, Chelan County, Washington (ED 29, page 2a). He is married with no children, his mother-in-law is living with him, as is a nephew. He is working as a miller, as is a nearby George D. Brown who may be another brother. The family is shown as follows:
L.D. Brown, 29, married 4 yrs, b. Canada, imm. 1896, naturalized, owns home with mortgage.
E. Brown, wife, 33, b. MO
Neil McElwain, nephew, 5, b. WA
M.A. Sheafer, mother-in-law, 60, widow, 7 children, b. OH

I could find no trace of him in 1920.

Brother Sam and his family are in Bridgeport, Douglas County in both 1910 and 1920, but were earlier in Montana also where some of his children were born. In 1910 I also find in Bridgeport a Joshua Brown and family who look very much to be part of the same family.

George is my great grandfather, his daughter Edna married Clyde Smeltzer my grandfather. He is buried in the Waterville Cemetery in the Mausoleum with my grandparents and a great uncle. The obit is most likely in the Waterville Empire, but I now live on the east coast and until its on line won't seek it out! I do have pretty good family details. Let me know specifics and we'll see what we can do.
David Smeltzer - email papads@aol.com
Mrs. Knut M. (Johanna) Steen of E. Wenatchee

I am interested in contacting the family of Johanna Steen. Mrs. Steen lived in E. Wenatchee and from all my research, appears to still be living at about age 90. It is her daughters, Bernice and Mary Lou, from her first marriage to Franklin Jerrow that I would like to contact. I have done extensive research on the Jerrow family, and would like to share with them. They can contact me at denise@suwaneetree.com

Yes, that could be the same. We only know her with the name Hattie (may a second name like Hedwig or Harriet), maybe also Hattie Elizabeth. As far as I know she was born on 1888-07-27 in Rost Jackson County, Minnesota as child of Gustav SPIECKER and Wilhelmine, nee Lück. In the Minnesota Census - Rost Township, Jackson County, Minnesota of 1895 she has the name Hattie. In the United States Census - Rost Township, Jackson County, Minnesota of 1900 she had the name
Laura. Both must be the same, because the datas of birth are the same.

She married first about 1910 a man I don't have any more informations. He died young before 1932. Than she married the widower Walter E. van Valkenburg (van Valkenberg), born about 1890 - 1892 in Utah, about 1930. In both marriages she had no children. The grand-parents of my husband never got post of them again after 1946/1947. The address at that time was post-box in Marysville. They had some shops of cleaners with the name "Elite Cleaners" in Marysville. This shop does still exist in Marysville, but the owners don't know anything about the family van Valkenberg. We called them years ago.

One of Arthurs' brothers was William Gust Spiecker, b. September 1884, d. September 24, 1983. They had one sister, Laura Spiecker b. 1888, could this be Hattie?

Hello,

Are you a descendant of Wilhelm (Bill) Spiecker?

His sister Hattie kept in contact with the grandparents of my husband, but in 1946/1947 it suddenly stopped. Since many years we try to find out what happened to her and her husband Walter and we try to find descendants of her brothers. It would be nice when you can answer us: faircoup(at)yahoo.de.

Thanks and greetings from Germany,
Monika.
