What information are you seeking? Old history, or obituaries?
Sydney immigrated in June 1913 via Marcus,
Washington. He was, 29, a gardener, traveling with a Charles William
Airey, age 27. Sydney was from
Chichester, his father James
Lillywhite. Charles was from Penrith,
England, his father David. Both enroute to Omak. Charles was enroute to his brother Thomas H. Airey in Omak. Sydney to his friend Thomas H. Airey. Sydney was 5 foot 7 1/2. Medium complexion, black hair, blue eyes. He had a scar on the side of his left eye. Both had landed in Quebec from
England (typical crossing).
The World War One Draft Registration Card images show
Sydney living at 3041 6th St, Seattle when he registered on Sep 12, 1918. He was married to Jessie
Wright Lillywhite. He was born in
Chichester,
England on Sept 20, 1885.
1930 census-shows
Sydney born in
England, Jan in
Scotland, immigration 1913, 1914, respectively. Children not shown in the 1930 census, which is a major question on why, or where were they.
Washington Birth Index shows
Ada born on 9 August 1916,
Sydney Margaret on 31 August 1919. Ada born in Okanogan to
Sydney L
Lillywhite and Jessie W. Falconer. Sydney in Seattle to Syd Lawrence
Lillywhite and Janet W. Falconer. Were Jessie and Janet sisters or the same person with different names being used? I did no research into that , as you might already have it.
The 1920 census has
Sydney and Jan W, in Seattle, both shown as immigrated in 1913. Sydney M is shown as being 4/10. Ada is not shown, again why?
Washington Death Index.
Sydney L. Lillywhite (2 "l's as shown), born about 1885, died on 22 April 1979. His Social Security Number 536-05-0750. His place of death was listed as Omak, his residence was listed as Omak.
Jan
Lillywhite, born about 1887, died on 22 Oct 1980. Her Place of Death and Residence was identified as Okanogan. Her SSN was 536-05-0750...a duplication of the same number as
Sydney, so one is wrong.
The Social Security Death Index:
Sidney (as spelled)
Lillywhite, born 20 Sep 1884, SSN as identified above.
Jan
Lillywhite, was born on 9 Jan 1890, SSN was 539-10-7261.
You can order their applications for their SSN's. It would identify where they were born, their parents, where they lived upon application, etc. This is good information if you don't know it already.
With the above death dates, try:
"
http://www.secstate.wa.gov/library/ask.aspx" A free service of the WA State Library. They look for an hour and send the results.
But, what you need is a local person to obtain an obituary, look up local records, try:
"
http://www.rootsweb.com/~waokanog/okanogan.htm"
Volunteers:
(Set to show
Okanogan County):
http://www.raogk.com/washingt3.htmYou will also need a volunteer to check offline microfilm of the
Washington Death Index for the two children (and Jessie?). The WA Death Index on Ancestry is not reliable, or complete for that matter.
