I'm looking for information about the convict Cornelius Crawley who I think might be an ancestor of mine. He was born in 1802 transported from Cork in Ireland on the Ann and Amelia, arriving in NSW in 1824/5. I have found some conflicting and confusing information about him though. Some sources list him as married to Henrietta McGarry/McGany, and fathering James, with the birthdate and location of my g.g.g grandfather. But the marriage and death certificates for this relative (James Crawley) list his mother as Elizabeth Garrick/Garey. With such similar surnames, I'm a little confused. Henrietta McGarry also seems to have been a convict, as well. Is it the same person using a slightly different name? And does anyone have any other information?
Thanks!
