So far the only thing i have found is the following. Please let me know if anything rings a bell that you might have seen or heard in your family history.
I have found a Thomas Jones age 24 from Aberayron Wales. He was on board the Daphne in Dec 1860.
I have also found quite a number of Insolvency and land records for Thomas in Brisbane Area.
I also found this as well.
1 May 1863 Stillborn male to a Mrs Thomas Jones of Kangaroo Point,qld.
Also a Thomas Jones Died in 1911 aged 73 years born in Wales. This could be your Thomas.

Thank you, Vicki. I've seen the stillborn notice. I'll check out the land records and insolvency stuff in more detail and the guy on the Daphne. I'm thinking of getting the death certificates for 3 possible Thomas Joneses who died around 1900 (expensive!!). I know he died before 1903 because his wife died then and she was living alone (I assumed a widow) when she went (unless she was divorsed!), so the one who died in 1911 is probably not mine (but I'll check further). Thanks for your help. I've got a bit to go on with now.

Elijah simpson born 1825 arrived on john renwick in 1843 ref con33/1/38 ended up in tasmania
any other information would be great

The only thing i have been able to find is:
Francis received his Certificate of Freedom on the 25 sep 1841 and again on the 4 April 1842,not sure as to why there are two dates.
He married Anne on the 17 Sep 1841, i was unable to find births or deaths of children as well.

I have the certificate of freedom (at least the Sep 1841 one). Don't know if he actually married Anne because she applied again 2 years later (still as Anne Cale), to marry Patrick Simpson (and obviously did according to bdm.nsw) I'm trying to establish whether or not Francis was my greatgrandfather's father.

I have found info on Elijah Simpson,would u like it to be sent to your email.
When i found a lot of info i like to attach it to the email,so u can print it out and study it better.
