John and James
Kenny (B. 1770 and 1771 respectively) were tried in Co. Carlow in 1791 for robbery and sentenced to 7 years in Australia. They were aboard the Boddingtons in 1793 and served their time in NSW. Both were strong Catholics and advertised to the running of a catholic school in The
Rocks,
Sydney. John was hung in Parramatta, NSW in 1807 for murder. James started a school in
Windsor, NSW and had a family. James married Alice Bird in 1811 at St
Matthews Church,
Windsor and died in 1843 at Inveralochry/Goulburn/Glen
Kenny, NSW. James was a constable and had an understanding of the law.
I would love to hear from anyone with information about the family in Ireland, as after years of searching I still can't confirm the birth place or family of John and James.
Thank you!
