I was wondering if you had a record of the Hydery Ship passenger list arriving in Tasmania 11.08.1832 . My convict is Mary Cook who had 4 children with her . I was hoping to find out if there was any names of the children on the list
Looking forward to your reply
Heather

Hello Emmma,

I wonder if you still have the convict CD database and if you would be kind enough to look for six Bryant brothers who were supposedly sent to Australia for sabotaging papermaking machinery during the Industrial Revolution. They were opposed to mechanization, preferred hand making paper. Their names were Joshua, George, Daniel, Gabriel, Alfred and Henry V. They were born from 1827-1847 in England (Buckinghamshire, Hampshire and Yorkshire Co.) Any help would be greatly appreciated as I live in the US. Thank you!

Hi,
I am not Emma,,hehehe,,just popping in to say most of Australias convict info is online now.

Tasmania has some info at
http://portal.archives.tas.gov.au/menu.aspx?search=11

NSW State Records
http://www.records.nsw.gov.au/ (under family history or indexes online)

NSW BDM
http://www.bdm.nsw.gov.au/familyHistory/search.htm

Queensland has a convict database
http://www.slq.qld.gov.au/info/fh/convicts

QLD BDM
https://www.bdm.qld.gov.au/IndexSearch/BirIndexQry.m

If you google autsralian convicts many other sites will come up with various information, including shipping etc.

Also Ancestry has a major section covered for convicts,,,,where convcited,,where sent and even what they did until their time was served.
