Charles William Rogers and Emma Jane Bull were married in the June quarter of 1888, at Lambeth, London.

http://www.freebmd.org.uk/

This looks like it could be them on the 1891 England census, living at Lewisham, London.

Charles W Rogers 24
Occupation (something starting with an 'M') designer dress

Emma J Rogers 21

Emelie B Rogers 2
Eveline M Rogers 6/12
Isabella R Bull 14

Isabella Bull is listed as stepdaughter, indicating an earlier marriage for Emma Jane Bull.

1901 England Census, living at Sydenham, Lewisham, London:

Charles W Rogers b. Westminster, London (b. abt 1867)
34 Occupation: (indecipherable) designer

Emma J Rogers b. Southwark, London (b. abt 1870) 31

Emily B Rogers 12
Charles A Rogers 7
Ethel M Rogers (b. abt 1896) 5

Hope this is of some help, Anne

Sorry, must need my morning coffee :)

Of course, Isabella Bull cannot be Emma Jane Bull's daughter. Perhaps a sister?

Yes, it has been transcribed wrongly.

I had a look at the original text of the census details, and it denotes Isabella R. Bull (born abt 1877, Lambeth) as sister-law of household head Charles W. Rogers.

Cheers, Anne

Len, I've now had my coffee, and another close look at the text :)

I think it is 'Mantle' designer (dress), a mantle being an overgarment, as in a coat or cloak.

All the best, Anne
