I am looking for a Sydney James Clulow who emigrated to Australia in 1912 with his parents His father nipped of to NZ abt 1922.
Only clue so far is a Sydney Knight Clulow on the 1936
Australia Index, address 4 McDonald street, lakemba, he is a hairdresser, also living at the same address Betsy Mason Clulow.
_ any news of Sydney and possible family / descenndents most welcome.

It says in the above file that SYDNEY Knight CLULOW was 33 years old in 1915 which would make him born about 1882. Was your SYDNEY a child or a adult when he emigrated to Australia?

Sydney James Clulow was the son of Louisa Knight Born 1865, Derbyshire who Married Enoch John Clulow, Sydney Knight took the Surname Clulow it appears whilst in Australia but Knight in NZ.
His son Sidney James obviousely carried on useing the Clulow Surnmame.
Sydney Knight / Clulow was Born 1883 Stow Nottinghamshire, England and emigrated to Australia in 1912 on the ship Indrapura.

I have downloaded the Sydney Knight Clulow images and forwared them to his 80 and 84 yr old surviving daughters. I am sure they are infora suprise when they open about 15 em's.
Re Sydney James Clulow the Marriage and Army details confirm his wife to be Hilda Admiral and now the quest is to see if there are any descendents of this union. Who was Betsy Mason Clulkow in his household in Lambaka in 1938?...

Sydney Knight Clulows first wife Elizabeth May MAYLIN Born 1884 Hitchen , Hertfordshire returned to England using her Maiden name at least once, returned to Australia and info is also sort on her by relatives in her line.

As for Sydney James Clulow, your best bet is to get his death certificate from the NSW BDM. If he had any children to Hilda they should be listed on it.

As for Betty Mason Clulow, do you have any other details on her, that could help research her?

Do you know what state in Australia, Elizabeth May Maylin went to when she came back to Australia? Do you know who her parents are?

I have no further info on Betsy Mason Clulow..just told she was on said listing for 1938.,,could be an unknown sister?.

I have advised the relatives to get the Marriage, Death and Army Papers for Stdney James Clulow for further info.

I believe i found the Death for Elizabeth May Clulow 1976 Petersham District and advisd that Certificate be obtained also.

Last night I Googles Clulow, NSW and managed to get about 6 NSW Clulow em address's and sent spec em's, so one nmever knows..awaiting replies.

If they were in London I would check the Birth Indexes for Sydney/Hildas possible kids from 1938=1945, at least, sadly we do have the equivalent of the English freeBMD yet..well not one that goes up to date. Would be nice.

Stdney Knight Clulow died when the daughter, my contact, was 16, she is very happy with new personal info revealed..that he had joined the Army and the personal details in the Army papers.

I noted the procedure thanks but left it until I had more time to complete the forms and see what the close rellie is going to do with current info.
I do know there was a Hilda latham Clulow as well in the Death Indexes.
