Hi Cindy!
What a nice surprise to receive a message from you! I have many fond memories of the years our family spent living on Wilryan Ave. My Dad's brother and family bought the house from us so we still would come back and visit. I remember playing at your house with you and I think your older brother, Gary, used to babysit us. Many hours were spent playing with the Juhls and Jackie Atkinson. That was a great neighborhood!

Do you keep in touch with Jackie and the Juhl's? I assume through FB? I will have to check out the Cahill FB page and Cornelia's, if there is one. I went there for 2nd, 5th and 6th grade. My husband has a FB page but I do not yet.... His is listed under Corey Ophus.

I live in Eden Prairie now with my husband and two dogs. We became "empty-nesters" last Fall. We have a son who will be 24 in February who loves to travel and is into photography/films. He lives in Hopkins. Our daughter is 18 and goes to school at the U of M, Mpls. She lives in a dorm there and just finished her first semester this week. She has not declared a major yet but is thinking premed. After I had children, I became a stay-at-home mom (I used to work at Target Headquarters in Marketing Operations). My husband, Corey, travels alot doing antique shows around the U.S. I recall years ago he used to see Jackie Atkinson-Shaw at some of the shows he did.

Do you remember my brother, Tom? He lives in Henderson NV and is a corporate pilot. He is married and has two young children, a daughter (9) and a son (6).

My Dad passed away in 1999 but my Mom is 83 and lives in Chanhassen in a senior apartment. She has become very frail but her mind is sharp.

Did you know my cousins, Stephanie and Heidi, who moved into our house on Wilryan? Their dad died young and when their mom remarried, they moved to Bloomington. My Aunt Claire passed away recently. Her oldest daughter, Stephanie lives in Maple Grove with her husband and two daughters (both in high school). Heidi is married and lives in New Prague.

It was wonderful hearing from you! I would love an update on what is going on in your life. To keep in touch, you can go to Corey's FB page or email me at ophusandophus@aol.com. Thanks for contacting me! It made my day!

Happy Holidays!
Chris (Alrick) Ophus

P.S. I haven't been called Chrissy in years - it makes me feel young again! :)

Chrissy, is it really you? Daughter of Myles and Peggy Alrick who once lived on Wilryan Avenue in Edina There are several old neighbors from Wilryan Ave on facebook and the Cahill Elementary School facebook site and we have all been wondering and remembering good thoughts of your family. Jackie Atkinson-Shaw and Peter Juhl all send their regards to you and your family.
From your old neighbor Cindy Ostberg ( I am married to Paul Schroedl but I did NOT change my last name) in Minneapolis, MN I would love to hear from you!
December 2011

I see you were trying to locate my dad 5 years ago. He died at the age of 69 in November of 1999.. Maybe by now you had already heard this? He had bypass surgery about 8-9 years prior to this but always had a weak heart. He still kept pretty active though. Golf was his passion during the summer months and playing with his grandchildren. How were you related to him? Both of his sisters are still living, Veronica and Donna Mae. I know 5 years have gone by but if it is not too late, I would love to hear from you.

Chris Ophus (Myles' daughter)
June 9, 2005
