I am Richard F. America, Jr. Born in
Philadelphia, Pa. I do not know a connection to Americas in
Tennessee. But it is possible. I am African American, and there were a large number of black Americas in the 1700 and 1800s in
Virginia,
Maryland and
Delaware. Some migrated or were sold to
Alabama and
Florida and
Louisiana. And some might have been biracial, and might have "passed" for white and their descendants would have become part of white communities over time.
