Great to hear from someone! If you, or anyone, could, post the most complete family tree, i would greatly appreciate it.

I am in contact with Prof. Dr. Adolfo Gilly and Serrano Alvarez Pablo, both experts on Angeles.

I will try to get as much of my own information, but I do not want to get repetition along the way. It is my quest to get the most complete record of the family tree and where we are all now.

I actually have a few pictures, all in Mexico City, but will have them in electronic file once my family sets time for it.

Please stay in contact.

Luis

This is an interesting thread.

I am not sure the name of the brother of Felipe Angeles that I am the decedent of, but my dad knows- I will get it soon.

The story goes: after Felipe's (general) assassination, his brother and his family took on the name of Ballesteros, I believe it is the "maiden" name of Felipe's and my Great Grandpa's, mom. They did this to avoid tracking by his executioners. Let me consult my family, but I have an old photo of Felipe Angeles with the brothers in Mexico City, of which, I can see if I can share that with you all.

im Dominican and I am an Angeles, i looked up online Angeles is the base form for alot of Italian names like D'angelo, Angeletti. So i think we got our last name from italian settlers who had children with Spanish people probably explaining some features that look theyre italian that come up in some children but not in many because it has been centuries since that birth. So honestly my opinion is we are somehow part italian or european in some form or another and its been handed down to us :]

His resemblance, attitude, mannerisms and way of dancing are said to be very similar to those of the General Felipe Angeles. My grandmother is now 88 years old and would like to know if she has any other brother or sisters.

I am fortunate to say that he was my great grandfather :)

Hi Linda,

I was wondering if you knew of any Angeles branches resulting from Gen. Felipe Angeles' brief stay/exile in Texas.

My grandmother (Angelita) always said her father came to Texas after having fought alongside Pancho Villa. He took an alias (Zamora) and started a farm in the West Texas area. No one in the family seems to know much about him and since my grandmother has been diagnosed with Alheimerz its been difficult to find out more info from her. Her mother's name is Lupe. I remember that my grandmother also mentioned visiting German relatives of her father in either San Antonio or California. But she purposely never talked in detail about her father at all. His identity is shrouded in mystery.

Just wondering if you might be able to help shed some light on the subject. Gracias!

Saludos

Hello, I am trying to see if there is a link between my grandfather, Merenciano, and General Felipe Angeles. My grandfather was born in Vera Cruz in 1900. I am having troubles finding info before that. Stories have been circulating in the family that the General was indeed related, but I am having troubles finding the link.

Thank you for any information.

Maria

Carlos:
My wife and her sister are the great grandaughters of Felipe Angeles. My wife's name before she was married was Rosa Antonieta Morua, Leura, Gongora, Angeles. She is now de Vincent. Her sister's name is Yolanda, she lives in Monterrey, Mexico. Two of my wif'e's uncles (grandsons of Felipe Angeles live in Monterrey and Corpus Christi, Texas. Their names are Antonio Leura Angeles and Tomas Leura Angeles. A good source of the life of General Felipe Angeles is in the book "The Life And Times Of Pancho Villa by Friedrich Katz. Even though the book is about Villa, there is much of Angeles's life described there. Dwain W. Vincent, 317 Wyoming St., Laredo, Texas 78041. (956) 723-9735

I am trying to locate a niece or great-niece of Felipe Angeles. I believe her mother was the daughter of one of his brothers. This family lived in Mexico City, and the mother was married to a man that I think was a shoe manufacturer. The lady I am looking for is Alicia ("Licha") Angeles (not sure of the other surname). Her mother was divorced from her father, and had remarried. I am not certain if it was Licha's mother or father who was descended from this family. I last saw her in 1966.
