Surnames: FLYNN, BRENNAN, BLAKE, FREEMAN, McNAMARA, SONIER
Seeking info re: family of Helen Frances FLYNN, dau. of Maurice FLYNN & Helen LEARY, b. 5 June 1879, Glengarriff, County Cork.
Family stories have her coming to the U.S. around the turn of the century. Also that she had a sister - possibly Margaret (?) - who emigrated to Australia.
I have a photo, taken in Springfield MA in the late 1920s, of the following people:
Nellie SONIER (nee Helen FLYNN)
Alfred P. SONIER (her husband)
their children, Alfred J. (my father) and Ida Mary
Mary & Michael BRENNAN
Eithne BRENNAN (later BLAKE)
Tom FREEMAN
Mack [sic, but I wonder if this could be Mary & Michael's other boarder, Michael McNamara - see below]
Nellie (Helen) is listed on the back as "1st cousin of Mary Agnes O'LEARY BRENNAN"
I imagine that might be through her mother, who is listed on Helen's death certificate as a LEARY?
I've done a little searching and have found a Mary, Michael and Eithne BRENNAN in the 1930 Census in Manhattan NY - all about the right ages. There is another daughter listed in the Census - Maura. And two boarder - Thomas FREEMAN and Michael McNAMARA. If anyone is familiar with this family, they may be able to tell me if I'm on the right track.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
