Hi Pat: My g grandfather was Pat Brennan b.~1835 and married Atty Gillespie. I have not been able to establish a county or townland yet; but the family history is that our family came from the Roscommon - Sligo area. This Patrick ( b.~1828-1831)had 6 or possibly 7 children. Pat (b. 1857), Tom, Cornelius-(b. 1869),the youngest, Catherine, Mary b.1850 and Anne. This Pat (1857) emigrated to England (Bolton-near Liverpool) at a very young age. He was 21 when he married Ellen Boland on 26 Feb. 1878, in the Pilkington Street chapel in the Bolton- Liverpool area. Her father's name was Edward Boland and her mother's name was Sabrina Mac Dermott. Edward and Sabrina were married in the Catholic parish of Killglass, Co. Sligo 22 Jan. 1850 and then immigrated to Bolton. All of my g grandfather's children emigrated to St. Paul,Mn. in 1882-1884. My grandfather is Cornelius. One of my assumptions, because of the family history, is that my g grandfather and mother may have been married in Roscommon and then move to the Sligo area where most of their children were born ---Parish of Kilmactigue. I don't know if this is of any help to you. I go to Ireland 2X each yr and will be exploring more of Roscommon's records then.my e-mail is goosehnt@bresnan.net
