I have just recently found that a man named Patrick Salmon was a witness to my Thomas Brennan that was naturalized in Lowell MA, in 1856. Patrick had known Thomas for at least 5 years, as Thomas landed in Boston in 1848 and proceeded directly to Lowell. Or he may have known the family previously in Boyle, Roscommon.
In searching records I found Patrick was married to Catherine Brennan, in Lowell in 1843. He was born in 1805, according to Census records.
