I am trying to connect with Christine T. Browne and James A. Browne. They are the children of Andy Browne and Betty Corrigan. Christine was born in Essex in England in 1947 and James was born in Surrey, England in 1957. Andy and Betty worked as housekeeper and valet for a family first in London, then later in Ireland. I believe they eventually moved to the USA.

I am searching for any information or family of Ethel Maud(e) BROWNE. Birth possibly 22 Jan 1881 in Staffordshire (not certain). Father Charles Robert BROWNE. Married August 1918 to George Edward COGGINS died 5 May 1964 in Kent. One son Robert George COGGINS (my father). I can't seem to find much information about the family - any help appreciated.

There is considerable and well documented info regarding the ancestors of Sir Thomas Browne, High Sheriff of Kent, b.c.1402, as well as the descendants of Nicholas Browne, the immigrant, b. Inkberrow Perish in 1601. And while a few sites state the connection between the two individuals, none reference any publications or list any documentation to support the following:

Sir William Brown II & Spouse Unknown

Does anyone reading this message board happen to have the terms of the will of Buckingham Browne?

It is at Will Book 5, p 344; signed 15 Jun 1733, probated 19 Aug 1735. From an abstract, it refers to wife Eliza, son Samuel, dau Eliza, son Elias, dau Dorothy Brown, son James Brown and dau Mary.

I am interested in the language of each bequest or devise (that is, not just the names, but what they received).

I also have seen a reference to his receiving a patent for 1265 acres in 1719, but cannot find it on the Library of Virginia website. Does anyone have an exact date and book and page reference? [The 1704 Quit Rent Roll shows 400 acres; and the 1715 Quit Rent shows 596 acres.]

Loraine H. Livingston

Loraine H. Livingston, 91, of Sheridan died Friday Sept. 5, 2003, in St. Vincent Hospital in Billings. Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church with Gary Kopsa officiating. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.

Mrs. Livingston was born Aug. 7, 1912, in Minneapolis to Edward and Hazel (Lynch) Browne II. She came to Sheridan in 1931. She married Amil Livingston June 21, 1937, in Thermopolis. The couple lived in Sheridan and built the Big Horn Avenue Grocery. After raising her children, Mrs. Livingston attended college and studied bookkeeping, then kept books for her husband for a few years. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school, was active in women's circle groups and took care of the nursery. She also taught the Pioneer Girls. She enjoyed gardening (especially roses), birds, sewing, crafts and reading.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and Edward.
Survivors include her husband, of Sheridan; two sons, Edward and Jack, both of Sheridan; two daughters, Hazel Richard and Louise Knievel, both of Sheridan; a brother, Dudley Browne of Austin, Texas; a sister, Rill Cessnun of Hot Springs, Ark.; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Camp Bethel in care of Karen Green, First Interstate Bank, P.O. Box 2007, Sheridan, WY 82801.

The referenced couple lived in Queen Anne's Co., MD. Their sons were Bennett (died about the late-1780s), Robert, James and Basil Browne. Does anyone have any information on the wives and children of Robert, James and/or Basil? I know that the son named Bennett Browne moved to Essex Co., VA and married Mary Hill there in 1775. Bennett and Mary (Hill) Browne's children included Andrew, Basil, Charles and Mary, as I recall.

There was a John Brown in Essex Co., VA on the 1783 tax list, as well as on the 1810 and 1820 censuses, and I am trying to determine if he COULD have been another member of the overall Charles Browne/Priscilla Brooke family (there are some interesting "apparent connections" between this John Brown and a descendant of Bennett Browne named Christopher Tompkins Brown/Browne).

Am researching my maternal grandmother's family line.
She was the daughter of John Browne and Mary Nally Browne, born in Caherduff, Cong, County Mayo Ireland in 1897, one of eight children. She had cousins in Muckrussaun (Nallys)and Creevagh (Connellys). I have a copy of the 1911 Irish Census for her family. At that time her parents had been married for 19 years. Having difficulty finding marriage information for her parents and nothing to indicate marriages between Connellys/Nallys or Connellys/Brownes.

Many of the cousins emigrated to America. I've gathered many of their names from letters my grandmother kept. But I can't add them to my "tree" until I know how everyone is connected.

Would appreciate any help from researchers familiar with the area or any suggestions that would help me narrow my search. I'm using on-line records from the Mayo South Family History Centre.

My Grandad was James Patrick Browne and he was from Granard, Longford. He married Mary Ellen Kiernan. The had 4 children, James, Barry, Lorraine and Marina.

The moved to Nottingham, England where they were all brought up.

My name is Aaron Butler and my mum is Lorraine.

Very interesting...there is a genealogical study by a Wainright family in and around Boston...they think I'm connected to Ester Makepeace, but I don't think so as I believe my elder John Browne was married to a Hannah Bartholiemu....there's a book I'm told in the Peabody Museum/Library..a history of Salem Mass in which a Sidney Perley claims a daughter of one of the later John Browne's..in th elder John Browne line married one Cornelius Thompson..Captain of the privateer/armed brig "Chase" then later "The Hawk" her name was Judith Browne..born around 1761..Thompson took her to Mount Desert Island to live..I believe the marraige was in Salem..you know it seems every Brown generational son had a John Brown..there might have literally been 20-30 related John Brown living at the same time..anyone up for comparing DNA?

Sorry, but I haven't been able to trace any of my BROWNE family to the 1900's or to the present time. Two went to Canada, one to US and rest stayed in Liverpool. All of them born in the 1800's. Lots of BROWNE families in Liverpool and it seems few were related to any other, or not to mine, anyway.

He left for England in Aug'46 never to return to my grandmother or my father who was born a month later. I have just purchased 2 books on the Browne Families. Brown/Browne Family of Granville NY & Granville, WI. by Cynthia Ingalls Brown. This book starts out with Richard Browne born in England in 1614.I went to the Granville, NY Library and copied the first 8 pages and contains much more through the book. The book is a a soft cover and is sold for $22.64. I also purchased the book The planters of Commonwealth by Charles Edward Banks 1854-1931. I was told this is also a good book for the Brownes. this one is also a soft cover and sold for $20.00. There are a lot more books that be of help. You can find and purchase them at www.alibris.com Hope this has been of some help for all of us with Browne/Brown connections.
