Hello Ward,

I'm not sure how our Burch families might relate, but my Burch family was in Dorchester, Massachusetts before 1657. Thomas Birch died there 8 May 1657.

This Burch line (Joseph, Jeremiah, Thomas, and several generations of Jonathan Burches) settled in Stonington, New London, Connecticut for the next 80-100 years, and eventually through Wells, Vermont (Chauncey), Warren and Ft. Ann, New York (Chauncey Benjamin and Benjamin) to Erie, Pennsylvania.

Have you seen any of these names before?

Thanks,

Chuck Plumb

So many Zebulon Burch.

There was also Zebulon P. Burch b abt 1775 at ? and d abt Mar 1, 1845 in Whitley Co, IN. He is buried in the Burch/Ditton Cemetery, Whitley Co, IN. This Zeb was m to Eva Anne Shaw b abt 1775 at ? and d aft 1850. She is also buried in the Burch/Ditton Cemetery. This man was the son of Admiral Burch b abt 1760 in Pawling, Dutchess Co, NY and d April 14, 1818 near Zanesville, Muskingum Co, OH. Admiral Burch fought in the Revelutionery War and had 2 wives. (1) Unknown Ross who's father was said to be Zebulon Ross and (2) Betsy Baker.

Zebulon and Eva A. Shaw had a son Zebulon P. Burch Jr b abt 1820 in OH and m to Caroline Daily b abt 1836 in OH.

My family history and a history book of Dutchess Co, NY said that Zebulon Burch m to Eva A. Shaw was the son of Thomas Burch of Chautauqua Co, NY and a brother to Ira Burch b May 24, 1800 and d March 10, 1846 in Whiteside Co, IL. He m Johanna M. Bacon. Research has proven this Zebulon and Ira were not brothers.

The Ira Burch noted in another post was - I believe - Ira Burch b Feb 17, 1799 in Schaghticoke, Rensealaer Co, NY and d Feb 3, 1884 in South Cambridge, Washington Co, NY. His parents were Henry Burch and Thankful Almy. This Ira had 2 wives. (1) Sophia Atkins b abt 1800. (2) Elizabeth DeGraff b Nov 17, 1797.

Correct me if I have my information wrong.

Reta Kleve

Hi!

I am searching for any information on the wife of James W Burch b. 1888 in Maryland.

Wife's name was Elsie N. b. 1894 in Illinois.

Specifically looking for her maiden name and biological family members, including her parents.

I would also like to know if she was married after James W Burch, and what that second husband's name could be, as well as a possible move to Florida. This part may not be correct info, I am trying to track down which of my father's grandmothers he lived with as a child.

Yvonne King Burch ,89.*the singing King Sisters ,big band ,Hollywood **
Yvonne King Burch ,
Yvonne King Burch ,,
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — Yvonne King Burch, who gained early fame as one of the singing King Sisters during the big band era before launching her entire extended musical clan into show business as the King Family, has died. She was 89.

Burch died in a Santa Barbara hospital Sunday, where she was taken for injuries she suffered in a fall last week, said her daughter, Tina Cole.

Burch was the matriarch of the King Family, a popular and enduring show business dynasty.

She spent three decades singing and recording with the King Sisters, one of the most popular vocal groups of the 1930s and 1940s. A Grammy nomination for their Capitol Records album "Imagination" capped the group's career in 1959.

In 1963, Burch conceived and produced a benefit concert with her sisters and three dozen relatives including brothers, husbands, wives, aunts, uncles and children that marked the debut of the King Family.

The King Family appeared on "The Hollywood Palace" before headlining their own TV special. Strong fan response led to two variety series and 17 specials during the 1960s and 1970s. The family appeared on "The Ed Sullivan Show" and performed with entertainment legends, including Bing Crosby and Dean Martin.

Besides landing a national concert tour, the clan recorded five albums for Warner Brothers. The family showcased its multigenerational talent with performances by the King Cousins and the King Kiddies.

The King Sisters performed and toured with big bands led by Horace Heidt and Artie Shaw before starting their own orchestra with Luise King's husband, Alvino Rey. They made it big in the 1930s and 1940s with jazzy, four-part harmonies on a series of hits, including "Mairzy Doats," ''Miss Otis Regrets" and "The Hut-Sut Song."

Burch was married for 39 years to William Burch, a longtime radio and TV producer who died in 2005.

She had two children with her first husband, musician Buddy Cole, who died in 1964.

___
