Have you had any luck with finding information on Henry Caldwell?? I know that he married Mary"Polly" Ferrier in 1803 in Botetourt County, Virginia. They had the following children: Mathew, Delilah, William, Stephen, James, Jasper, Margaret, Robert, Lucinda. They were all born in either Giles or Montgomery County, Va. In the census for Gallia County they tend to be enumerated as Colwell. I believe that Henry and Mary are listed in First Families of Gallia County, Ohio.
Their grave sites can be found at http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=mre&NMmi=4...

http://www.galliagenealogy.org/ This is also a good site for Gallia County.

I have never had any luck finding who Henry's parents are. I have seen sources that indicated it is Hugh and Ruth Holstein Calwell but I cannot find any documentation for that. Would like to know who his parents are?
Plus would like to find documentation for Hugh Caldwell's parents.

Good luck

Lynn Andrews

Yes I have a Samuel B. Caldwell..He lived in N.Y. (Brooklyn)in 1920...he had a son James Caldwell that lived in Orange N.J. in 1920...James was married to Elinore.
Can anyone look up 1930 census..I have conflicting age for James. I believe he was 30 in 1930 and some have said he was 39..could there be a mix up and the "0" might look like a "9"..I do not know where to go and confirm any of this. Is there any other place that might list his name/age and if he had any Children. A city Directory maybe?

I have been researching my Caldwell line and cannot find David H Caldwell's parents. He was born in Kentucky in 1822 and in the 1850 census he is living in Simpson County. His wife's name is Lucinda. I know David's first child was born in Illinois and then they moved back to Simpson county and had 3 more children. In 1860 they had moved to Spruce, Bates Co. Missouri. In 1870 they had moved to Cane Hill, Washington Co. Arkansas. From your research do you know if Samuel is any relation to my David?

Thanks
Lou

Samuel(b. 11-5-1836) is my ggg grandfather by his son Calvin. I believe that your William( I have a document where is name is spelled Wilam) and was born March 1, 1860. I have no idea when they came to Missouri from Kentucky but I do know that they were married on November 8, 1857. Almiranda's(b. 4-25-1836) name was Hogan and both were born in Simpson County,Kentucky. Hope this was helpful

He lived in Russell County, VA and believed they MARY and JAMES lived at Lebonnon, as my ANDREW CALDWELL was involved in the settling of his Estate. The surname has also been spelled WALDTRIP. A bunch of this group came together from Prince Edward County, VA. Where JAMES came from earlier, I am not sure. MARY/POLLY married a 2nd time. To MOSES SCOTT when they lived in Adair County, KY. They came back to live in Lee County, VA and can see them listed as a family on the 1830 Census for that county done by my ancestor, MARY's Brother, ANDRREW. She and MOSES ended up living out their lives there near Dryden.

Hi Todd, I have a small amount of information on them. Write to me and I will give it to you. In the mean time I will see if I still have the email address of the lady that is a direct decedent.
Karen, My uncle Hardin Caldwell's family was Esau before changing their name to Caldwell. Hardin is my Uncle by marriage. He married Fannie Caldwell whose father was William and mother was Rebecca Moody. Hardin died about 1978 or so in Waynesville, NC. Fannie is still living. If this helps let me know. I'm trying to track back from Will and having a ton of trouble with all of the various Caldwells around Haywood Co, N.C.
