I have posted this on other Carroll forums but not sure about this one. It seems that many people with the Carroll surname have been told they are descendent of CC of C (including myself) and has spurred people to investigate there genealogy. If your ancestors were Catholic and originally lived in and around MD there is a good chance you are distantly related to both Daniel Carroll signer of the constitution and CC of C the signer of the Declaration of Independence. If your ancestors were historically Protestant (especially Presbyterian)and originally from around the PA area you are almost certainly from the Scotch/irish branch of Carrolls
