Hi. Daniel Carroll, son of Michael and Joanna Browne, had a son Daniel b. 1699; who married Elizabeth Purdy; and a daughter Hannah, b. early in the 1970s who married John Sewell in 1721 son of Henry Sewell and M. Mariott. Daniel's brother Domenick married Mary Sewell and their children were all girls. Daniel and Elizabeth's son was Daniel of Carrollton and Pa. (he inherited land from his uncle James (d. 1729) brother of Daniel's dad, Michael. It was in Md., but due to a boundary change became Pa. Dempse Jr., also inherited part of the Pa. land, being the remaining heir of Dempse Sr. and the only remaining inheritors from James....all others were dead at that time...Although all points to this, I cannot substantiate it either in Md., or Pa. other than the will was not settled for years, due to mishandling by the trustees....particularly Charles of Annapolis. (This is from a book by Father Ambrose Carroll Moorman, who has the early Carroll Bible. It is called "Daniel Carroll and some of his descendants" or a similar title...paper back...in Library of Congress, I am told. Thomas Carroll, 1753-1823, son of Daniel; had a son named William who was gov. of Tenn for two separate terms and was a hero in the War where he was wounded. susan
