Canadian Christies

I am researching my grandmother's heritage. She was a gg granddaughter of John Denny Christie (1784) Truro NS, whose father was John Christie (1739) from Roxburgshire Scotland.

Of interest to me is that many in the family line were Presbyterian ministers; there is a 4 generation run at one point. From what I can see, many family members married within their church community.

In the 1790s to 1840s there is a large intermarriage with the Archibald family of Truro. This has caused me some confusion as names can repeat through generations and cousins. And a couple of second cousins got hitched along the way.

Approx 1840, George Christie (1815, Truro) married Elizabeth Ann Patterson, of Pictou. Various other trees list her as daughter of John (Deacon) Patterson of Pictou fame. (There's that church connection again). I found their marriage bond (100 BPS!) but no other primary souce yet of her paternity.

In 1910s two Christie brothers (Clarence Victor and George Archibald) married two Mowatt sisters (Emily and Edith). The Mowatt's mother was an Annand, probably from NS as well.

There is another Christie line appearing in Ontario at the same time. I cannot confirm if they are related.
