Please can anyone give me ANY information about Richard EDDY born St. Just in 1871 - he married Elizabeth Jane Thomas in 1899 and they apparently had 13 children. There must be SOMEONE out there who has heard of him or his children.

Any information no matter how little, would be gratefully received.

Thanks
Sharon

Correction on Information about Richard Eddy but thanks for posting CP
Richard Eddy born 1871 (Gold Miner, Father Richard Eddy, Miner...address at Marriage Trewellard.

Married: Elizabeth Jane Thomas in 1898,of Higher Tregeseal, (known as Janie), Father: Nicholas (Miner), Mother: Eliza Reynolds

Richard and Janie had two childred:
Richard Eddy b1899 and Doris Eddy B March,1903.
Richard Eddy senior was deceased by the time of Doris's birth in March 1903.

Janie Thomas went on to marry William Mallett Acford of Devon, some years later.

Any information woud be appreciated, as Richard Eddy b 1871 has become a brickwall and I cannot trace his parents.

There is a Richard Eddy b1871 St Just on the 1881 census for St Just with parents Richard and Sarah. Richard snr is a Tin and Copper Miner and was born c1843 St Just.
The 1851 census shows this Richard 1843 aged 8 with parents Richard Eddy born c1815 St Just and Mary Ann (probably Walls) born c1821 St Just. There is a marriage of Richard and Mary Ann 25 July 1840 St Just.
Are these the Eddys you are searching for or is this another family?

Angolex, Many thanks for you contribution.

I originally thought this was the family I was connected to: Richard Eddy/Sarah Trembath.
But after receiving the Will for Richard Eddy b1871 died 1902, he appears to be a single Gold Miner. Leaving all the proceeds to his brothers, sister and mother, with no mention of a wife or children.
His birth, occupation (Gold Miner), and more so his death in 1902 both co-incide with the details of my family.

He is the only one on the census who's details match the information I have gathered from certificates etc but the Will appears to discount him. His is also the only Death on the GRO Index in 1902 but I know that Doris Eddy was born March 1903 and her father was deceased Gold Miner.

Hello Diann,

Sharon posted the request on my behalf originally.....Many thanks for the census information 1871.

They are not my family.

On the Marriage certificate for my Richard Eddy b1871 death 1902/before March 1903, of Trewellard, he states his fathers name to be Richard Eddy, a Miner.

The only family with a son called Richard Eddy b1871 and a father called Richard Eddy a Miner, points to Richard Eddy and Sarah Trembath family. They have a son of the same age, occupation (gold Miner) and death year of 1902 , but I have his Will and there isn't any mention of a wife or children at all.

I believe in those years you had to proovide for your family, the Parish would not be willing to look after them if you had money to leave at your death, which he did.

My Great grand-dad is such a mystery.
