Evanoff Harry
Evanoff, age 78,
a resident of
Erie passed away Saturday August 30, 2008 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in
Erie on January 16, 1930
the son of the late Harry and Theresa
Petroff Evanoff.
Harry was a graduate of
Tech Memorial High School
and had worked as a toy designer
for
Marx Toys until their closing. He later worked at the
Soldiers and
Sailors Home in
Erie.
Harry was a member of the Russian Orthodox Old Believers Church of the Holy Trinity
and was also an avid sports fan. He enjoyed all types of sports from the high school level up to the pros and was especially an avid fan of
Penn State football.
Besides his parents, Harry was preceded in death by two sisters; Gloria
Chatman and Kay Pazdsziez.
He is survived by his wife Violet Karuba Evanoff; a son Tim
Evanoff and his wife Mary Jean of
Butler, Pa.;
two daughters, Kathy Bondiett and her husband Mark of
Sandy,
Utah and Linda
Evanoff of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
Harry is the brother of Jack
Evanoff of Fla.; Florence
Weed of Erie;
Anita DeFonzo and her husband Robert of Erie;
Marilyn Voronovas and her husband Peter of Canada and Matrina Barry and her husband Terrence of Fla.
He is the grandfather of Raymond and Alexander
Evanoff. Friends are invited
to call at the John J. Quinn Funeral Home, West 9h &
Liberty St. Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and are invited to attend Funeral Services there Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Russian Old Believers Church of the Holy Trinity,
