She married on June 6, 1799 in Orange Co., NC, William SMITH, born February 11, 1774, died 24 Jul 1841, buried at Newburn Cemetery. She was the daughter of Lewis (Louis) JONES (23 Jun 1790-21 Jun 1865) and Anny BROWN (14 Feb 1801-25 May 1833) who were married 21 Apr 1818 in Vincennes, Knox Co., IN. James & Susannah had at least 4 daughters - Lucy, Rachel, Margaret and Mary. I don't have complete info on all the daughters. Rachel married William Woods 12/1809. Margaret married Matthew Woods. Mary married Charles Wortham. I am descended from Lucy.
Lucy married William Smith. They had ten children - E. Faucette Smith, Hugh, Hannah, Luesey, Mary M., Rachael, William III, Zeno, Emzy Chapman and Logan Love. I am descended from E. Faucette.

Check the other 2 Faucette message boards and look for Mark Faucette. He's our cousin and has TONS of info - probably the most complete.

Descendants of James Faucette

Generation No. 1

1. JAMES2 Faucette (WILLIAM1) was born 1750, and died Bet. 1801 - 1811. He married SUSANNAH WOODS, daughter of HUGH WOODS and MARY DUNNEGAN. She died 1835.

Notes for JAMES FAUCETTE:
Abstract of Wills from Orange County, NC at the State Archives in Raleigh:

James Faucette, the elder, wife Susannah, "trusty" and beloved friends, Robert Faucette, Mathew WOODS, Charles Watham and James Latta. After Susannah's death, children share and share alike. Daughters: Rachel, Margaret (Nathan) WOODS, Mary (Charles) Watham, Lucy (William) Smith. Trustees: Robert Faucette, Mathew WOODS, Charles Watham and James Latta. In another record I find that the Will was dated July 18, 1801 and proved in 1811. There is a note here that says his wife was the daughter of Hugh WOODS. I also have information that Richard Matthew WOODS (1775-1826) married Margaret Faucette (1776-1856) in 1804 in Orange County, NC. This couple moved to the Broad River area of Chester County, SC just west of Union and Spartanburg Counties where my Faucetts were living as early as 1775. I am trying to tie all of these SC Faucetts with the Faucetts of Orange County, NC.

I ran across your posting on the Faucette?Woods line. James Faucette married Hugh Woods daughter Susannah married James and their daughter Racheal married Joseph Woods son William in 1809 in Orange County. By 1850 William and Racheal were living in Bedford County, TN (Bedford County Census of 1850) near Unionville. Joseph Woods was the first born son of Hugh and Mary Woods of Orange County and had married Phoebe Clark in 1782. They had two son's named Hugh and William Woods. William was born in 1786. Joseph's first wife Phoebe died soon after William was born and then he remarried in early 1790's to a Ann McKee (their graves are in the Little River Presbyterian Cemetery). Phoebe was a quaker until she married Joseph who was Presbyterian. Phoebe Clark was a daughter to William Clark and the Clark's were from PA. Ann died before Joseph's death in 1852 and Joseph and Ann had children also. Joseph had two brothers named Elihue and John. Elizebeth Woods was Hugh and Mary's last child. John married a Cain and he also wound up in Bedford County where he died in 1830's. Hugh Sr. had either a brother or possibly father living next door to him in Orange County and his name was John Woods to which his wife's first name was Sarah. John Woods died abt. 1776 or 7 in Orange County.
My ggg grandfather James Woods was living just three doors away from his father in Bedford County, TN and then moved out of TN in 1852 and went to Montgomery County, AR and died about 1854. His second wife was Ann Earp who he had married in Franklin County, TN in 1842 (his first wife was Jane Morris). After James death Ann married a John Scott in Montgomery County, AR and died a couple of years after 1900. James first wife Jane had three children to which their third child was Mitchel Woods. Mitchel married Narcissa Ater in Clark County, AR and had two children there before Mitchel moved family to Grayson County, TX where his uncle George Gammon Morris lived. Mitchel and his wife died in Wise County, TX. Mitchel's second child born was John Woods and married Louisa Ray (Ray's came into Wise County from Allen County, KY) and he had a son named Harvey Woods who married a Roberts. The Roberts line came into Wise County from Cooper/Petit County, MO. Harvey was my grandfather.
Back to Hugh and Mary Woods. It is highly likely that Hugh had moved into Orange County sometime between 1746 and 1749. I'm not so sure Mary's last name was Dunnagan and half to put big ? on that. The three most likely area's Hugh moved from is either VA, Maryland of PA being the most likely. It is highly likely also that either Hugh or his father came from North Western Ireland. I have found records in Derry Centre of a John Woods who had married a Elizabeth Meeke in 1720 (possibly in the County Tyrone, LondonDerry or Donegal area) which at the moment I'm trying to find more information on. I will not say these two have any relationship or connection at this time but their marriage is within a period to which Hugh Woods is believed to have been born (abt. 1725 or so). Mary was born abt. 1729 from records of Orange County (found obits on Mary). Mary Woods wife to Hugh Woods died 4th of Sept. 1822
