Does anyone have any information on Rev. George Fitzgerald, b. about 1831 and was a Methodist preacher in the East Prairie, Missouri area? My husband is just starting to research his family and George Fitzgerald was his great-grandfather. Thanks for any information you may have.

I am searching for information on Catharine Fitzgerald who was born about 1846. This could have been in England or Ireland.

Catharine Fitzgerald was married to James C. Simmons.
Catharine born about 1846
James born about 1834
Arrived in America about 1854

In the IGI I found William Henry Simmons born 21 Sept 1868 in Montperlier Twp., Washington County, Vermont the son of James C. Simmons and Catharine Fitzgerald.

Other Children were:
Charles A. Simmons b. about 1871
John James Simmons b. about Dec. 1872
Mary E. Simmons b. about 1875
James P. Simmons b. about 1877

They all lived in the Montppelier, Vermont area.

Anyone with any further information on James and Catherine (Fitzgerald) Simmons, please contact me. Your help would be greatly appreciated as I have come to a brick wall on this line.

He was a Baptist Preacher and at least 3 of his sons were also (Asa,
Aaron and Arch). He is said to have had 13 children and I have
identified 8 of them.

His father may have been George Fitzgerald b. abt 1739 Amherst Co, Va
per Rev War Pension records who had relocated to Franklin Co, Ga.

John and Ann may have arrived in NY in 1849. Both were born in Ireland. The 1860 U.S. Census lists them living in Philadelphia (21st Ward) at ages 40 and 34 respectively, with children Sarah-14, James-12, Thomas-10, Mary Jane-8, and John-3. Also living there was Cecilia Flood-80, who may be related to Ann.

With the exception of John (Sr) and Cecilia Flood, they were all still together in Philadelphia (24th Ward) during the 1870 Census, with the following additions: a daughter Cecilia Fitzgerald-8, and Sarah married to Simon Gavin (Simon and Sarah died in Philadelphia in 1884 and 1924 respectively).

I am trying to locate information on my grandmother’s sister, Mary Fitzgerald Morgan. My grandmother was Bridget Fitzgerald Maloney and she died in 1925 when my mother was 5 years old. My mother spoke of her Aunt Mary Morgan who took her for Sunday picnics. I have a picture of Morgan cousins that included Theresa, Stephen, Rita and Anna. Chicago census records from 1930 show a Mary and Andrew Morgan living at 7250 S Honore Street with children James, Mary, Theresa, Stephen, Rita and Anna. I'm looking for anybody that is related to Thomas Fitzgerald and his wife Charity Eckley and his brother Peter Fitzgerald that married her sister Elizabeth. Thomas and Charity are my great-great-great-great grandparents through their daughter Arminta Fitzgerald that married Samuel Cahill. I'm willing to share information on the family and I do have some pictures of Hiblers and Fitzgerald and some Brammells too. I have been to the Hibler-Fitzgerald Cemetery in St. Louis County, it seems most of the Fitzgerald from that area ended up moving on out to like Franklin or Gasconade County or other counties of Missouri.

I am trying to locate family of Mildred Fitzgerald born 1897 in christian Co., Illinois. Her parents were Ellsworth and Cora (Dunn) Fitzgerald. They are both buried in the Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Mt. Auburn, Illinois. Mildred and her siblings were given up for adoption about 1914-1915. She had the following brothers and sisters: Gladys, Edna, Vella Marie, Lebon "Lee"; Floyd; and Carlton. The only child that lived with his mother was Lee.

Mildred had a daughter named Patricia Barnard but I do not know if this is Patricia's maiden name. On Mildred's mother's obituary it states that in 1949, Mildred was living in Kankakee, and Gladys was living in Indiana.

I believe that Patricia was living in Rosedale, Indiana at one time. Thanking in Advance if anyone can help.

Mrs. Charlotte Burdette Whitesell, 92, of Leader Nursing Home, Jersey Shore, since 1989, formerly of Tyrone RD 3, died late Tuesday evening, Dec. 27, 1994, at the home, following a brief illness.
She was born Nov. 29, 1902 in Mooresville, Huntingdon County, the daughter of David Luther and Nancy (Harpster) Fitzgerald. She married Clarence Blair Whitesell on May 29, 1933 in Petersburg. He died July 17, 1952.
Surviving are a daughter, Florann Haldebrand of Tyrone RD 3, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

My husband descends from the above listed son Edmund Coffey Fitzgerald.
At least three of Edmund's children seem to have settled in Upshur Co. WV by the mid-1800s. There are marriage and other records there for sons Wyatt and Benjamin Douglas Fitzgerald as well as for daughter Mariah (Fitzgerald) Rohrbough.

Am researching for a friend, who descends from a Katherine Fitzgerald, b. Jun-1862, Ireland, who married in 1884/85 at Boston to a Daniel J. Delaney, b. Oct-1861, Ireland. I've been told Katherine was a cousin (not sure if 1st or 2nd) to John Francis "Honey Fitz" Fitzgerald, the Boston Mayor and father or Rose (Fitzgerald) Kennedy. I'm currently unable to access the marriage record for Katherine and Daniel, and am not even sure that record would provide her father's name. My GUESS is, if she IS a 1st cousin to Honey Fitz, her father would have to have been a son of Michael Fitzgerald and Ellen Wilmouth, of Bruff, Limerick, or County Wexford, Ireland.

Having read through many posts on these relations, I was hoping to contact Kathleen Fitzgerald (whiteing), but noted no posts from her since 2006, so not sure she's still on this list/board. She seemed to have a solid grasp of all the Fitzgerald inter-relations for that particular Boston family, so I was hoping she might already have info on this Fitzgerald/Delaney marriage.

Any help with squaring away this particular relationship, even it proven to be naught but family legend, would be greatly appreciated.

Margaret A. Fitzgerald, 74, of 650 E. Logan Ave., died at 11 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, 1982, in Altoona Hospital following a brief illness.
Mrs. Fitzgerald retired in September 1975 as owner and operator of Fitzgerald Convalescent Homes Inc., which she founded in 1942.
She was born April 28, 1907, in Barree Township, Huntingdon County, the daughter of Walter Scott and Margaret (DeArmitt) Whitesel, and May 28, 1925, in Cumberland, Md. Married Jesse Ray Fitzgerald.
Surviving are her husband, a son, Donald B. of Altoona, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Also surviving is a brother, George of Petersburg.
Mrs. Fitzgerald was a member of the Pleasant Valley Assembly of God Church.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 1 to 2 p.m. Friday in the Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Juniata.

Looking for Bridget's maiden name and where in Ireland Thomas and Bridget came from.

Immigration records present many possibilities as do the naturalization records. Thomas states he is a US citizen in the 1870 census.

FITZGERALD, McINERNEY, MULVIHILL - Co. Clare

My G-Grandfather Michael FITZGERALD was born in 1852 or 1853 (US Census and Death Cert. differ) in the Kilkee area of Co. Clare, Ireland, and emigrated in 1872 to the U.S. He lived first in Elmira, NY and Southport, NY, then from approx 1886 until death in 1932 in Snedekerville, Columbia Twp., Bradford Co., PA, just below the NY border. Wife, Honora McINERNEY, b. 1857 in Kilkee or Kilrush area
of Co. Clare, also emigrated in 1872. They most likely married in Elmira, NY area in 1877-78, but I haven't searched for the details on that.

Honora's brother Michael McINERNEY also emigrated from Co. Clare to the US in 1872. His wife was Mary FITZGERALD, presumably related to the Fitzgeralds from Kilkee/Kilrush.

Michael FITZGERALD's brother James FITZGERALD, b. 1862 in Co. Clare, emigrated to Elmira, NY in 1886. His wife was probably Catherine, b. January 1865 in Ireland, and married about 1888.

Michael FITZGERALD's brother Thomas T. FITZGERALD, b. March 1865 in Co. Clare, emigrated to Elmira in 1882. He married Mary, born in May 1870 in Ireland, in Elmira in about 1888.
Thomas died of a heart attack while on a visit to Kilkee, Co. Clare in August 1904 and was buried there.

Michael, Thomas, and James FITZGERALD's parents were Patrick FITZGERALD and Johanna MULVIHILL. I am not sure of the correct spelling for Johanna - the surname was mispelled on Michael's death certificate, and the given name may be corrupted too.

These men all worked in railway car shops or rail track maintenance in the US.

I would appreciate any information about these folks and relations. Also I would like to connect with others researching FITZGERALDs and MCINERNEYs and MULVIHILLs from the Kilkee/Kilrush area.

Mary married a FITZGERALD ( unfortunately Christian name unknown at present). 1901 census describes her as a widowed farmers wife. Any info would be appreciated.

I am looking for information about the Johm Fitzgerald Family that lived in Ardmore / Waterford County in the early 1800's. He married Mary (Donnell/Donel/Daniel) and they had 7 children born between 1828 and 1842. (Maurice, Margaret, John, Mary [My great grandmother] Joanna, James, Michael). The three year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Fitzgerald, living near Pond Creek, was so badly burned by boiling linseed oil that it died soon after. The mother was boiling he oil on the stove and in trying to removed the vessel she was burned by the oil and dropped it. The child was near the stove and the contents of the kettle spilled over its body.

My great grandfather was Thomas Fitzgerald born 1882 in Cappagh, DED Cloghane to William and Mary Fitzgerald. Emigrated to the US, NYC, sometime 1905-1910. Youngest of 14 children. Cappagh was only a dozen or so houses in the late 1800s. By the 1901 census there is no record of the William/Mary household. Seeking descendants of any of those other 13 children who might know more of the fate of the family.

I am looking for my grandfather's father William S. Fitzgerald who was only shortly either married or with his mother Alma Weir. He was born around 1895 either somewhere in New York or possibly in Ireland. Together they had my grandfather William T. Fitzgerald but little is known of his life before they were together and nothing about after they split up. I am hoping that someone has some information that would lead to our family finding out what happened to him and whether or not he had another wife, and hence if we have another branch to add to our tree. Please help me if you can! I would love to find this information for my mother!

Edward Charles Corning, married his first wife Josephine Fitzgerald. in Lynn, MA 1901, by Arthur J. Teeling the Pastor of St. Mary's Church in Lynn which was the oldest and largest Catholic church in Lynn.
(one of the witnesses was Cornelius Mulhearn, who may have later been Catherine’s first marriage)

Edward and Josephine had a daughter Margaret born around Nov. 1910 in New York, who seems to have disappeared in Milwaukee, WI around 1921/22.

Edward and Josephine Corning divorced in Kenosha, WI, 1924, but Josephine kept the Corning name and in the 1930 Federal census, was living with her sister K(C)atherine Murphy, and her Husband in Walden City,MA (Middlesex county).
James and C(K)atherine Murphy had a daughter Katherine, born 1923.

I would appreciate any information about this Family, and especially information about Josephine, and her missing daughter Margaret?

My ggrandfather Christopher Fitzgerald went to Breckenridge, Missouri, in 1871 on the Orphan Train. His brother John and sisters Mary Ann, Catharine, and Julia stayed in NYC. Julia married Michael Liston and had a son Frank in 1886. Does anyone have any connections to these lost Fitzgeralds?
