I've viewed almost all of the postings and so far, I think I may be the only one trying to search out this line of the Forbes family. I really need some help!

I have traced my Forbes line of family back to Broadalbin, Fulton County, New York. Based on Union Mills and North Broadalbin Cemetery records, I determined the following:

Peter Forbes (b. 1776) and (d. 1861). Came from Perthshire, Scotland to New York in 1801. Married a Margaret McDougal (b. 1770) and (d. 1850). She too came from Perthshire, Scotland.

Peter had at least one child, Peter Forbes Junior, (b. 1806) and (d. 1889). There was possibly a daughter, Margaret (b. 1804??) and (d. 1879). I believe there may have been another son as well, but am unsure.

In the 1850 census the family appears as such:
Peter Forbes, 75, male, no profession, born in Scotland
Margaret, 80, female, born in Scotland
Margaret, 47, female, born in New York
Peter, 45, male, farmer, born in New York
Daniel, 11, male, born in NY
Henry, 9, male, born in NY

Listed directly below Peter Sr's family. is:
Mary Forbes, 42, female, born in NY - MY G,G,G,GRANDMA
Percilla, 18, female, born in NY
Duncan, 15, male, b. in NY
Catherine, 12, female, b. in NY
Henry, 11, male, b. in NY
Francis, 8, male, b. in NY - MY G,G,GRANDPA
Eliza, 6, female, b. in NY
Mxxx, 4, female, b. in NY
Caroline, 2, female, b. in NY
"Not known", 3/12, male, b. in NY

*** Mary is NOT listed with a spouse in the 1850 census. But, later, in the cemetery records, she IS listed as Peter Forbes Junior's wife. She was born 1808 and died 1850, sometime after the census was taken. ***

In the 1860 census, Peter Forbes Jr is listed as having Duncan, Henry, Francis, Eliza, Mxxx, Caroline and Charles (I believe this was the "not known" child) as all living with him.

I am confused as to the marriage of Peter Forbes Jr. and Mary as I cannot find a record of it. I am also trying to determine if Mary was married to a different man with the last name Forbes as all of her older children carry that name, not just the younger ones. In addition, Mary seems to be listed as a seperate household from Peter Jr. in 1850. I'm seeking help in getting clear information on this.

I'm also trying to chase down information on Peter Forbes Sr's arrival in New York, as well as find out more about the family branch he came from in Scotland.

If anyone can help me clear up some of this, or make ANY connections back to Scotland Forbes family members, it would be VERY, VERY appreciated!!!!
