My 2 brothers & I are interested in any information about the daeth of our father, John Fenimore Cooper from Glendale, CA on Dec. 27, 1997. We are his grown children from his 1st marriage. The only information we have is from the S.S. Death Index.

Doctor Cooper was Chief of Urology and founder and Director of the Urology Residency Training Program at Kaiser Foundation Hospital in Los Angeles. I first met him in Los Angeles following graduation from the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He accepted me in the program in 1977 and I completed training in 1981. Since that time I have worked in private urology practice for ten years followed by a return to the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan in San Diego. I subsequently joined the Southern California Permanente Medical Group and, like my mentor Doctor Cooper, became Chief of Urology at the Kaiser Medical Center in San Diego. Doctor Cooper developed personal medical problems and began his retirement around 1980. All the graduates of "his" residency returned to a dinner and farewell salute around 1985 in Los Angeles. "Coop" was always a favorite of mine and I was saddened to hear of his death. I would be happy to share the little information I have about his health.
