Re: Henrick Family of Wexford Ireland

Just read your post. My Great Grandfather William H. Summers was born in Liverpool in 1849. His parents were John and Mary Henrick Summers. They were both born in Ireland, location unknown. I believe they were married in Ireland. From records found in the U.S. their birth years vary from 1825-1832. They immigrated in 1849. Do you have the book you mentioned or know who I might contact to look up Mary's name? I suspect she was born in Wexford.

Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Patricia
patmcypres@msn.com
Hi there, I was born Henrick and we have done a bit of family history going back to similar time frames you refer to. We also hale from Wexford, Ireland. There is a book which has been published (a very small number in circulation) covering '10 generations of the Henrick's of Mount Leinster'. Unfortunately this particular book did not help my search to date as I am unable to tie my Henrick ancestors to this book. Suspect that the author could not find 10 generations of my line as they departed for Birmingham and then migrated to South Africa. Wishing you better luck.

Can't tell if there is any relationship at all b/w your ggg grandfather and my gg grandfather. The spelling of the last name is interesting, I haven't seen that one before. How did you get the info on the ship? There are so many spellings of Henrick, it's just about a lost cause. Nice to meet another Henrick though!

Still searching for anyone with information on the Henrick family who came from Germany and resided in the Cleveland, OH, area as early as 1850. 1860 Census (Cleveland) lists Christina "Henrik" with 5 children. Christina's maiden name was Malm, she was born 1828 Alsace-Lorraine, Prussia. William was thought to be an orphan from Metz-Lorraine with perhaps the name of HENNERICH.

It's a far strech from 1828 to 1949, but in the latter year I had a fraternity brother named Herbert Malm. We were members of the Gamma Zeta Chapter of Theta Chi Fraternity at Oklamoma A & M College (now Olkahoma State University) in Stillwater, OK. Herb was a tall, affable, red or sandy haired individual.

I don't know of Herb's mortality or, if alive, where he might now live. However, if you think he might be connected to your Malm family then contact Fred Gauger at >fngauger@earthlink.net<. Fred may know Herb's mailing address or e-mail address.

As I recall there was also a female of the Malm surname at OSU in 1950 but I didn't record her name. If you want it then get back to me at >GeorgeEyler@aol.com<.
