I am not aware of anyone migrating to Canada. I have only traced my family to my great grandfather Thomas Hotham (1818-1864) who married Ann Elizabeth Coates (1831-1893). The family lived in New Cave.

Sorry for not answering you sooner. I have only recently found my father's family. I am not aware of any Hothams from my family going to Canada. I have only researched to 1818 which was my great grandfather, Thomas Hotham who married Ann Coates. My family lived in South Cave.

Do you have any information on other Hothams from Hull? Were their brothers, John, Thomas, and George, who sailed on the ship "The Trafalgar" in 1817 to New Brunswick, Canada? Any information is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hello - If you wouldn't mind I would like to see the family history for the Hotham's as well. Margaret Hotham (1825-1885) m: James Michael McDonough in Mars Hill, Aroostook, Maine. Her father, George Hotham (1795 - ) born in England was married to Elizabeth Milner or Mailner. I believe this George Hotham was the brother of John and Thomas Hotham that sailed on The Trafalgar. Hi - Inez H. Hotham is actually Hortense Inez Hotham, daughter of James E. Hotham and Mytle Briggs. She shows up on the 1930 Census of Blaine with the Scovil family - her husband - Harry; Father-in-Law - Ambrose; Mother-in-Law, Candelia or Cordelia. Hope this helps.

George Hotham is my GGGG Grandfather. His daughter, Margaret, married my GGG Grandfather James Michael McDonough and moved to Mars Hill, Maine, in appx 1843. My ancestor George Hotham was born in England bet 1795-1799 married an Elizabeth or Betsy Milner/Mailner?. All children I have found were born in New Brunswick. Son John W. born 10 Oct 1838, married Augusta A. Jewell, died in 1918 and is buried in Monticello ME. Looking for information on George and earlier. Happy to share what I have on George's descendants.

Joined Admiral Howe, 1776; supported landing at Kip's Bay, N.Y., 15 September 1776; during Philadelphia campaign remained in New York as senior naval officer; gave naval support for Clinton's expedition to the Hudson Highlands, October 1777; engaged the French off Newport, R.I., July-August, 1778; senior officer in Leeward Islands, West Indies, after Rodney went to New York.

I am not related to this person, I am just passing on this information, which comes from a book titled "People & Events of the American Revolution" by Dupuy/Hammerman. R.R. Bowker Company, 1974. pg.344.

1880 Census: William L. HOTHAM lived with grandmother Barbra Graden in when 12 years old. There was also another grandchild living with Barbra Graden (60 yrs old in 1880) and her name listed as Mary Rasborrow (Rosborough?) born 1865. 1900 Census: William H. HOTHAM born 1839 (Head), Susanah (Wife) born Oct 1855, and William L. (Son) born Oct 1867. William L. is also listed in 1910 census as 42 yrs old and wife Anna E (49 yrs old). No children are listed with them in 1910 Census. These families lived in Rural Valley, Armstrong Co., PA. Does anyone have any information on these HOTHAM's and Barbra (Niswonger) GRADEN/GRAYDON who was married to Samuel GRADEN/GRAYDON? Thank you, Carroll

I fit your description. For more info on this branch of the family look on www.uk-genealogy.org.uk under Hotham. Doesn't go that far back though and tree is not complete. Burke's Peerage will be better.

Sorry I have taken so long to reply I have only just seen your message. I am also looking for my fathers ancesters. My fathers uncle was called Edward Hotham. He lived in Hull but went to Ipswich in the 1940's. He had an aunty Louisa (Tot) Hotham whose married name was Pearson. She lived in De La Pole Ave, Anlaby Road, Hull but left in about 1930.

My grandmother was Olive Hotham and there were 4 brothers and 4 sisters in the family. Edward, Mary, Hesekiah, Louisa, Enoch, Olive, Ivy and Thomas.

I have more information on dates of birth etc. if you want it and am very interested in any information you may have.

Saw your email to tracy. I am looking for my father's ancesters. He was born in Bridlington in 1887. Had a uncle Edward that lived at 146 De La Pole Avenue, Anlady Road,Hull.

I have a record of marriage for Asa Hotham & Millicent Kinney ( my great grandparents ) they were married Aug. 30 1905 in Blaine Me. also a record of death for Asa 12 Dec. 1922 in Fort Fairfield Me. he is buried in Fort Fairfield Me.in Riverside Cemetery but would sure like to know when Millicent died.

Edwards parents were Thomas and Ann Hotham

Even further back we have Edward Coates, who died in Feb 1807

Olive and Marys other siblings were:
Edward, Hesekiah, Louisa, Enoch, Ivy, Tommy
