My grandmother was Celestine Marie Kern(e). Her father was Joseph Clet
Kerne and grandfther was Cyprien Kerne. One of grandmother's brothers
named his son Clay. Mother thought that was a family name. One of grandmother's sister was name Zulma.

I wonder if you are still out there as several years have passed. The post you responded to was from a cousin of mine and his father, my uncle, and I were just speaking of the Kern(e) family today. He was looking for more information of George Kerne (or possibly Jean George Kerne)born 1731 in Germany. My uncle has that George Kerne may have arrived in America in 1753 (on a ship called the Cameleon, possibly?) along with the Jacob family. Do you happen to have any notes this far back?

My records go back to Jean George Kerne born1731 in Brisguat, Diocese of Constance, Germanyand died Feb. 3, 1795 in St John the Baptist Parish, La. He married Marie Eva Genevieve Jacob about 1756 in Briscaut, Nova Scotia, daughter of Christian Jacob and Maria Meelin. She was born Feb.27, 1748/49 in Ingwiller, Bas-Rhin France and died Jan. 12, 1812.
