KNIGHTS of Suffolk and Norfolk

I am looking for the baptism of my ancestor Robert KNIGHTS c.1740 and his marriage to Ann ??? c.1767 possibly in Nfk. Robert and Ann moved to Henstead, Sfk in 1767 - had children and were buried in Henstead in 1822 and 1810 respectively. At the time of his burial Robert had moved to Beccles so there may be a connection with the Beccles KNIGHTS. I have found a baptism for Robert and Joseph KNIGHTS around 1740 in Wheatacre, Nfk and as Joseph is a common name in later generations, would like to hear from anyone researching Wheatacre KNIGHTS in case this is them.
If anyone is researching KNIGHTS in Pakefield or Kessingland, I have tracked all the KNIGHTS there and am happy to pass on information.

While doing a walk-thru in a cemetery off Rt 3 near Pittsburg, NH I found the following headstone: Charles Knights 20 May 1855-1 Jan 1927 and his wife Frances A. Tuxbury 18 Oct 1857- 8 March 1917.

Hi -

I am trying to trace a William Henry KNIGHTS, my gt grandfather.From his marriage and death cert I know he was born abt. 1875 and was he son of William Knights. At his funeral family rumour states two wives turned up both with children.
He lived around the Willesden / Harrow area of London / Middlesex.
At the moment I cant fnd any record of his birth or family. Any leads gratefully received.

Advice / how to resolve please - UK

I have progressed very well in my reasearch into my tree but am stuck with my Gt Grandfather.
From his marriage and death certs I am confident that his full name was William Henry Knights and that he was born in abt 1875. From family info he probably came from the Harrow / Willesden area of N/London. I know he seperated from his wife Jeanne Tramasuer and had a new wife / partner. His marriage cert states his father was also William.
I can't identify him on the Census as a child or find a record of his birth.

I have gone back to basics and started from the begining several times and am now wondering if the details he supplied on his marriage cert were false as he may have been still married when he married my Gt Granmother, which would account for the family rumour that he had a bigamous mariage.A his funeral to 'wives' turned up apparently.

Can anyone on here advise me on how I can progress this, any advice will be welcome.

Robert Knights

LAKE CITY-Robert Curtis Knights, 54, of Lake City died Saturday, June 23,
2007, at Shands Starke.
Born in Saginaw, Mich., Mr. Knights was a longtime resident of Lake
Butler before moving to Lake City. He retired from the Reception
Medical Center in Lake Butler in 2000 after 27 years of employment.
He was of the Methodist faith.
Mr. Knights is survived by: his wife, Kathy Knights of Lake City; a son, Sean
Crawford of Ft. White; a daughter, Amber Rhue of Starke; sisters,
JoAnn Davies, Sandy Vickers and Mary Miller, all of Starke; five
grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death
by a brother, Jimmie Knights, in 1966.
Funeral services for Mr. Knights were June 26, 2007, in the chapel of
Archie Tanner Funeral Home of Starke with Brother Nathaniel Davis Sr.
officiating. Burial followed in Long Branch Cemetery.

Note: I am of no relation, but my sympathies go out to those of you who are.
This is here as a lasting memorial for Mr. Knights.

Emmeline Lois Austin Knights / Richard Isaac Austin Knights

I'm trying to trace my great grandmother, Emmeline Lois Austin Knights (abt 1888-1928), who got married in Hagbourne which was then in Berks, but is now Oxon. She married Frederick Shayler, a builder, in 1911, but I can't find any trace of her before that date. The marriage cert records her father as Richard Isaac Austin Knights, a publican. We believe the family originates in Ireland (co Waterford) and that Emmeline might have come to England to work 'in service'. Emmeline and Fred stayed in the Hagbourne area (near Didcot) and their descendants are still there.
If anyone has any information or ideas as to how I could find out more, I'd be pleased to hear them.

I am researching the family of Nathaniel Knight. He was born in 1785 in Chesterfield County, South Carolina. He died on April 3, 1863 in Fulton County Georgia. He married Nancy McMillian. Nathaniel Knight and Nancy McMillian had the following children: Catherine Knight, Mary Maria Knight, Elizabeth Knight, Thomas Knight, Emma Knight, Edward Knight, and William H. Knight.

Nathaniel Knight could be the son of Aaron Knight.

Just wondering if anyone can help me out?

I'm a direct descendant of John Knights (born ~1774 in Suffolk). John married Mary Allen (born ~1767 in Suffolk) in 1792.

They had 5+ children: James, Mercy, Samuel (born 1800), Happy, and Patience. (I suspect they also had a girl called Mary Ann in 1805).

Samuel married Mahala Barber (born 1812 in Suffolk) in 1841.

They had 5 children: Joseph, Mary, John (born 1845), Elen, Sarah Mahala.

John married Elizabeth Ivey (born 1844) in 1865.

The line continues down another 3 generations to me.

Rev James Knights (1808-1871) arrived in Lee in 1832. He married Susannah "Susan" Averill in 1833. Having no children of their own, they took in children. One, ~1859, was Willard Potter, thereafter a.k.a. Willard Knights.

Joseph Knights (1804-1885) arrived in Lee in 1832 also. His first two children Nathan and Joseph were born before 1832. His third child James F. and his fourth child Susan Rebecca were born after 1833. Were they named for the first couple (again, who did not have biological children)?
Joseph's wife was Rebecca Johnson(?) (1796-1860). Joseph responded in census records that he was born in Maine. Rebecca named both NH and Maine as her birthplace.

Are James and Joseph brothers? Where did they each reside prior to their arrival in Lee, Maine? Their history please.
Not indicated in census records as such and with mixed responces (yeas and nays) by descendants, family lore indicates that the early gentlemen were one (Joseph), if not both (James), black.

My husband and I have knight lineage, and we are searching for info on any of these family members:

1) John Thomas Knight married Charlotte Barr-Gable in Kent England, both were born in England. Their daughter Isabelle (Belle) A. Knight was born around 1852 in Illinois. Isabelle married James Henry Lee and lived in Medicine Lodge Kansas in 1880.

2) John Knight b. abt 1878 in Lands End England. Married Emmerette Edwards Todd b. 1885 in Kansas. They had 12 children all born in Kansas. John Knight had 2 or 3 sisters born in England and had a brother Cyril Knight born in Kansas.

Dorothy Pearl Knights, 77, died February 2, 2002 at Redmond Oregon.

She was born Feb. 17, 1925, at Dabney, Arkansas.

Memorial Services were held Thursday, Feb. 7, at Redmond Church of Christ, officiated by Minister Kevin Williams. A second memorial was held Saturday, Feb. 17, at Savage Street Church of Christ in Grants Pass, Oregon, officiated by Don Michael. Interment was in Hawthorne Gardens at Grants Pass, Oregon.

My maternal grandfather was Joshua George Knights.
He lived in Cheshunt, Herts.at the time of his death, but lived formerly in Ponders End, near Enfield, Middx. The only reference I can find shows his Christening on 15.8.1869 at St. Narys, Leyton, Essex. This would be right for his approximate age at the time of death. His father has the same Christian names, his mother was Mary Ann. He always called my grandmother "Minnie" - her surbame was Cross. Any information to support this would be appreciated.
