Wilhelm Kruse (Krause in earlier generations) and his family came from Hundeshagen, Thuringia, to Lafayette IN in 1895. He is said to have come at the urging of a brother or uncle who was already farming in the states, perhaps in the area of NE. He stopped briefly in Greenville MS to see family; his wife's maiden name was Gimpel. Does any of this sound familiar?
