I am looking for any information on the Lafayettes of Mississippi and Alabama. In particular, my g-g-grandfather was Charles Vinson Lafayette, died in Mississippi, but born in Alabama. I can't find any information on him as a child in the census records to let me know who his parents are. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

My LaFayettes originate from Virginia, however one of the census list a birthplace as Mississippi (was wrong, but maybe he had been there). My LaFayettes are also African American.
