You and I may be first cousins. My father was Walton H. Laurence and my mother was Gladys, and I'm wondering if your parents were L. E. and Thelma. If so, I am about six months younger than Buddy, and the woman who took care of the two of us when we were babies nicknamed me "Bunny" because of his nickname.
My parents divorced when I was two, and I had very little contact with the Laurences after that, although I do remember seeing Buddy a couple of times when I was a child on visits to Corpus Christi.
I have quite a bit of information on the Laurence Lemuel Eggar Laurence, Sr., family. If you are interested, I'd be happy to share it. I'd also welcome information you may have that I don't.
