Gladys N. Leopold Gladys N. Leopold, 86, of Fairview, Pa., died Monday, October 29, 2007 at Pleasant Ridge Manor West. She was born March 1, 1921 in Fairview, a daughter of the late Harrison G. and Sylvia J. Tingley Walter. Gladys owned and operated the first beauty shop in Fairview and for many years, she and her husband owned Fairview Hardware. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and was a life member of the Fairview Firemen’s Auxiliary. She enjoyed baking and going to lunch with her “Wednesday” Club along with playing cards and bowling. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ernest W. Leopold, two brothers, Charles and Harvey Walter, and a son Thomas C. Leopold. Gladys is survived by two daughters: Lynda Gresh and her husband Richard of Cranesville, and Brenda Bell and her husband John of Harleysville, Pa.; a son, Richard A. Leopold of Lehigh Acres, Fla.; a sister, Jean Geertson of Boise, Idaho; ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Gladys is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main Street East in Girard on Thursday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Friday. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:30 a.m. in Burton’s All Faiths’ Chapel with Rev. Clyde Davis, pastor of the Girard Alliance Church, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
