John Kearney Glin Limerick Ireland

Hello,
I have recently found John (Mc)Kearney's Declaration of Citizenship to the USA. In the document I found that he was born in "Glynn" or Glin, in Civil Parish Kilfergus, in Shanid Barony, in the county of Limerick in 1819. The document states that he migrated to St. John New Brunswick Canada in either the second day of May 1842 or on about the 26th day of June in 1842. He then went to Sidney Maine in the spring of 1843 and lived there until the spring of 1845 and then moved to the Portland Maine area in 1845. He built his house in Yarmouth Maine in 1847. At some time he married Mary Scanlon. I do not know when or where. Her father's name was John Scanlon and both Mary Scanlon and her father were born in Ireland. And once again, I do not know where. Mary was born in 1817.

I am wondering if anyone has any information about Mary Scanlon and:
1. Daniel Kearney in Killeanymore townland in Kilfergus.
2. John Kearney in Ballydonohoe townland in Kilfergus too.

They are both listed in the Griffiths valuation from faileromhat.com. I am wondering if they are brothers, uncles or possibly even a father.

Thanks in advance! Liz Dow
Glen townland in Coonagh Barony, in Civil Parish Grean, in PLU Tipperary in County Limerick.
2. Glen townland in Clanwilliam Barony, in Cahernarry Civil Parish, in PLU Limerick in County Limerick.
3. Glen in Pallasgreen Parish in the Dioces of Cashel & Emly.
4. Glen in Donaghmore-Knockea Parish in Limerick Dioces.
5. Glin Town and Glin Demesne in Kilfergus Civil Parish in Limerick Diocese both in Shanid Barony in Glin PLU.

My problem is I do not know if "Glynn" refers to Glen or Glin. Any opinion would be welcomed!
Thanks! Liz Dow
Looking for link between two Thomas Limerick families

My ancestor is Thomas Limerick, son of George Limerick and Mary Hamilton. Thomas immigrated to the USA from Ireland before 1820, when he was chosen mayor of Tuscumbia, Alabama. He was a commission merchant and moved to New Orleans by 1843. In 1830 his three brothers arrived, Oliver with his wife Ann, William, and George. I don't know what happened to William. Oliver and Ann had children born in Tennessee and Alabama and were living in Illinois by 1850. George became part owner of a steamboat and died at Thomas's home in New Orleans in 1946 at age 31.

My great-aunt, who lived in Vicksburg, Mississippi, had a photo of J A Limerick of Baltimore, Maryland, and a memorial booklet for Frederick B. Limerick, a Presbyterian minister in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania, who died in 1918. I found that Frederick Buck Limerick was the son of John Hunter Limerick, a brother of J. Arthur Limerick, the man in the photograph. They are sons of Thomas K. Limerick and his wife Maria H. who lived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The 1870 census gives Thomas's age as 40 and his occupation as bookkeeper, and the 1880 census says he was 53 and a clerk in an office. His children were John Hunter, Dudley, Margaret C., Julia H., J. Arthur, Maria L., and Burtis H. His wife and children were all born in Pennsylvania and the oldest child was 12 in 1870. Thomas K. served in the Civil War in the Pennsylvania Cavalry, and Maria applied for a widow's pension based on his service. He may be the Thomas Limerick, age 24, who arrived in New York from Ireland on March 8, 1853.

I believe that these two families are related, but the link must be in Ireland. Any information about either family will be appreciated.
Contact me at annette.bowen@gmail.com

Annette Bowen

Limerick family name

My grandfather, Earl A. Limerick, had a brother but I never knew his name. The brothers were separated at an early age, I believe. I find it interesting that many names are repeated through the years. My father's name is William (Bill) but not the one listed on the message board. And I have a brother David who lives in Indiana where most of my known relatives live. I believe that I have relatives from my grandfather's brother. If I can find the name, I will pass it on. Grandfather Earl lived in South Bend, IN at his death. I also have an uncle, Earl Jr, who still lives in the northern Indiana area. I have been told that all Limericks' are related. But I don't have the "tree" traced very far. My sister-in-law does! I will try to get a copy or get her to sign in here.

My grandmother's name was Carrie (Stiles) Limerick. She was married to Raymond Limerick and lived in northern Pennsylvania. My mother had six sisters and one brother all with the last name of Limerick. Susan, Virginia, Ruth, Bernice, Rayleen, Caroline, and Raymond. If anyone knows of this family as part of their tree, please email me with details. I understand that many of the family records were lost in a fire and we are having a tough time starting. My grandfather was Irish Protestant and my grandmother was English. They were both born in the United States but not much more to go on. They are buried in a cemetary in Portville, NY.

I am researching the MCKENDRICK line. My gr. grandfather had two older sisters, Hannah and Sarah. I've gotten a line on Sarah, but have been unable to get much of anything on Hannah. Word of mouth says she married a cousin (?) named Charlie Limerick and that they lived in/near Hamilton, OH. They had at least two children: Charles and Edith. Edith allegedly married a man named HARPER and had a least two sons: one of which was Lloyd. Would like to confirm/deny any of this and would like to find where/when Hannah McKendrick LIMERICK died. Thank you for any information you may provide.
Patrick McKendrick dbd42690@hotmail.com
