I'm trying to trace any relatives of my mother, Barbara Wingfield Longford who was born in 1917 in Barnt Green near Birmingham in the UK. Her father was Herbert George Longford and she was married to my father, Peter Stewart Quirk Andersen. She died in Worthing, UK on 12 June 1942. If anyone has any information about my relatives I would be grateful for any help as I know very little about my mother's family.

James Hart, my ggf, was born in Clonbroney Parish, Co. Longford about 1826. He emigrated to Brooklyn, NY (probably directly) about 1845. He married Bridget, date & surname unknown. Their first son was born in Brooklyn in 1851. Bridget emigrated about 1850. From this I deduce that James & Bridget married in Brooklyn. Can anybody find info about James?

Francis Louis Longford

Just come across a mystery. I recently found out that my grandmother Kathleen Parle married a Francis Louis Longford (22 years old) in a Catholic church in Liverpool in 1896. He presumably died between this date and 1907 when she married my grandfather, stating "Widow" on the marriage certificate. I haven't as yet found any trace of his death, but if it was in the very early 1900's maybe he was killed in the Boer War. His father was John Henry Longford (dentist) who was already deceased by 1896.
At present I know nothing more of him than this. I know its quite a recent event in genealogical terms but nevertheless I'm throwing it in here to see if it "rings any bells" with anybody.
Here's hoping
Mary

Just found out my GG-Grandmother's maiden name was LONFORD/LONGFORD. She married a man with the last name of MADDEN. I have two of their children names Nellie Carine (married William Lewis PHELPS) and Berry. They lived in the Mangum Okla area for a while & I believe both GGGrandpa MADDEN & GGGrandma MADDEN are buried in White Flat Cemetery (which I am looking into) Granted my information is bare -- but here's to hoping someone recongizes this family! Please contact me at either jw1976_1@yahoo.com or at jwadsw01@7-11.com
Thanks.

Barbara Wingfield Longford

I have looked up my records and traced your genealogy through your mother, her father, to his father and mother, and thus to about 1850's. My problem is that I do not know when exactly Herbert George Longford was born, and when he died. William Wingfield Longford died 1939, leaving a Church of England vicar as his sole heir. Herbert George Longford must have been born in thbe 1870's we think, and your mother must have been born at Fresco, Barnt Green, Worcestershire, the H.G. Longford home until the mid-1920's at least, and then in 1925 the trail goes cold. Perhaps you can help further, and I can tell you about the amazing family history!
