Hi Board

I have been trying to find links to an ancestor. Mary Ann Meletto, married Richard Henneford/Hennefer in Ainsworth, Bury, Lancs, in 1840. No address was listed for Mary, which the registrar said was unusual. Her father was John a shoe maker. On numerous cert's, the name is shown as Meletto, Maletto, Milito. I had no area to work from till I found them in the 1851 census living at 23 Velvet Walks, Bolton. It shows Mary as being born in Ireland, I thought I had cracked it, till I started looking for her family there.

I am now following other spellings, as I am quite sure this is where the problem lies. On the marriage cert neither of them could sign their names.

Does this look familiar to any one? Does any one have any ideas as to where to go from here? It is really bugging me!!

Thanks
Pam H.
