Hi,
Lewis Markham was residing in Farquier Co. Va, when he enlisted in the Revolutionary War and served in Va as sergent.
He applied for military pension for his service on Jan 7, 1833 in Lawrence Co. Tennessee. He was 70 years old.
He drew pension in more than one location.
Places he resided in were, Stafford Co. Va, Scott Co. Kentucky, Lauderdale Alabama and finally Lawrence Co. Tennessee.
SO, you could say, he got around.
There are about 50 pages concerning his pension.
His younger brother William Markham, who was in Fayetteville Kentucky at the time, wrote a deposition for him.
Lewis and Peggy Senter were married in Lawence Co. Tennessee.
Peggy stated they were married in 1830 but the county clerk gave written testamony that they were married in Jan 1831.
(In one place, the last digit looks like a four but in is written a second time and appears to be 1831.)
Later as his widow, Margaret applied for pension in Alabama.
She says Lewis resided in Lawrence Co. and drew pension in Paulaski Co. Tn as well as in Nashville before he died in 1846.
No children of Lewis and Peggy were mentioned on any pension pages Ive ever seen.
I dont really know anything else about them but hope this helps you.
Betty
