HISTORY: Edward Bridget McVeigh came from Ireland and settled in Ohio-Perry county, Pike Township, near New Lexington. Edward died there in 1848. Don't know when they came from Ireland??? or where from in Ireland????, they were Farmers. Joseph Patrick joined the Army 8-16-1862-Co.E 114 Reg't Ohio Infantry, James joined Army 8-15-1862-Co.K 126 Reg't Ohio Infantry.

After the Civil War Joseph Parick and James Homestead 160 acres each (next to each other) in Kansas, McPherson Cty. near Galva, Ks.
Bridget died 1878 near Galva,Ks.
Joseph Patrick born 7-12-1839 in Ohio and died Galva, Ks 4-1-1877, Buried Empire Cemetery, Galva, Ks. To my Knowledge Patrick never married.

11-27-1873 McPherson Cty. Ks. they had a daughter, Mary Florence. Catherine died in KC, Ks-Wyandotte Cty. 4-15-1915. Her daughter, Mary Florence Steinbeck last address (1932) was 1236 Reynolds Ave, K C, Ks.
My GreatGrandfather was James, his son Claire was my grandfather and his son, my Dad was Claire, Jr.

I don't belive that our stories fit together. MY grandfather was Richard McVeigh, his father was Joesph Patrick, and Joesphs brother was John. Their father was Patrick and he had two brothers, James and John. They all seem to have lived in New York, around Jamestown area. I know that Joesph Patrick and John were born in jamestown and that their father and his brothers were born in Ireland. Their fathers name was Michael. I have more specifics if you want them but I don't think they go together. Weird though...the, closeness of the names and all but the dates are way off.

My mcveigh family names are Patrick, Bridget Teresa, Bernard Joseph (my grandfather), William (moved to Accrington UK) James Joseph, Nicholas (died in WW1) and Francis. These were all born in Drogheda Co Louth Ireland from 1876 to 1892. These dates are too late for your mcveighs but perhaps their father John McVeigh (married to a Mary Purfield on 7/2/1875) in Drogheda may be a relation of your family. I am new to this so not sure where I am going at the moment

My McVeigh's came to the USA in early 1800's.
Edward was born in Ireland about 1800 and died in Ohio in 1849. His father's name was Patrick. His wife's name was Bridget and they had son's - Joseph Partick, James, Edward and daugther Catherine C., all born in Ohio,USA. I guess they could be related, who know? Do you have anymore information?
