Seeking confirmation of an 1850 marriage in Melbourne

Surnames: GORDON, CAMERON
I hope someone can help me.
Family records state that my ancestor John GORDON [23rd January, 1818 - 1855] married Catherine Cameron daughter of John Cameron of Meoble, Moidart, Inverness-shire on October 21st, 1850 in Melbourne.
I am very keen to verify that this marriage took place and if possible obtain the marriage certificate.
Any help would be hugely helpful.
