yDNA testing
I am in the process of having my yDNA tested (67 markers) and expect to receive the results in a few weeks.
I am posting this message in the hope that there may be another with the Merry surname who has had DNA testing done. If there is no one else, I challenge all you Merry males to think about it as it may solve a few puzzles about where the name arose and whether or not we are one or several families.
My Merry family came from near Eynsham in Oxfordshire from at least as early as about 1670, and possibly 1555, though our suspected ancestor William Merry was born in Gloucestershire in 1500.
