Moreton Genome Search--Has Anyone Else Done One?

I recently had my paternal DNA tested (by the Family Tree DNA company at www.familytreedna.com) in order to identify my genetic markers and possibly find other branches of my Moreton family. You may see the results of my test (and my family tree) that I had posted on the following public websites: Ybase (URL is www.ybase.org) and Ysearch (at www.ysearch.org. After going to either of those sites, just conduct a surname search on "Moreton" to see what I submitted. So far no matches have turned up. I am hoping that other Moreton's and people with variations of the name (i.e. Morton, Morten, etc.) will have their DNA tested and eventually find links to my branch.

Here is more information about my Moreton branch. My earliest known Moreton ancestor is William Benjamin Moreton, whose father is said to have come from Ireland. William Benjamin Moreton was born in 1822, reportedly in the Wheeling area of West Virginia, and spent his early adult years in Coshocton Co., Ohio. He married Lovina Castille (Casteel) with whom he had nine children. The family moved to central Illinois in the 1860's. In 1869, a year after Lovinia's death, William married Sarah Logue, with whom he had five children. The new family moved to Arkansas in the early 1870's, with the older children remaining in Illinois.

I would like to urge other Moreton's and Morton's to consider having a DNA test. I think that it offers a lot of possibilites for genealogical research of our mutual family.

Children were Elijah, George, John, Florie, Rose, Hannah and Mary Emma.

Mary Emma married Edwin Allmark. They were my grandparents.

Looking for any info on Thomas Moreton, son of Samuel Moreton and Mary Gerrard. Thomas was born in Comberbach, and married to a Lydia (or Mary Lydia?) Leather - their marriage has totally evaded me and is driving me mad!

I am trying to find out information on the Moreton Family from Bradfield, Yorks. The only Moretons I have in my tree are Martha Moreton b.1649, married James Ronksley (my line) and her father Francis Morton, b.1614, married Mary Revill in 1637.

Can anyone help me find a record of the marriage of Edward Moreton who was born in Nuneaton in 1866? He joined the navy and is shown in the 1901 census as being married and on board ship.
I've not manged to find any record of the marriage - HELP please!

Trying to track William & Mary Moreton who had a farm at Colney Heath, Hertfordshire UK.

Farm was sold "under an execution" (probably insolvent) in 1830.

Only one known son - Ezekiel Lofty Moreton.

William & Mary Moreton may well have been non-conformists, they certainly had non-conformaist sympathies.

Any knowledge or help would be gratefully received. I have a lot of Moreton / Bassill information to exchange.

Edward the father was a dock worker in Cardiff and his son Edward ( my ggrandfather), a mason by trade, moved to Dorset, where he perished in 1900 in a train accident.

Maria Moreton Latham

The math isn't adding up. Several years ago I noticed that my copy of the family tree produced around 1900 shows Maria Moreton Latham giving birth at 54 years of age. She was born 1640, married the Rev. John Latham 03/31/1692, and their son Rev. John Latham was born 11/11/1694. I'm finding the same jump in other family trees I've found. We seem to be missing a generation in the line. Has anyone else solved the mystery? I'm also interested in hearing from anyone else who is related.

Trying to update I am using the town library's pc I foun a William Thomas Moreton that was listed on a ship to ethier Boston or New York in 1880's the passage is from Bristol England he is listed twice since I don't have a pc anymore I'm back to the old ways of pencil and paper and hours of chasing leads.I'll check back in a few days.
