Civil War veteran Nathan MULFORD Cook of Pittsford, NY
Hi! Desperate for info about Nathan Mulford Cook. Can't find anything on the Cook message board, so I'm trying a longshot that Mulford is a family name. Nathan was born circa April, 1842 in NY, the son of William Henry Cook and Phebe R. Cook, both of whom were also born in NY according to the 1860 census. At that time, the Cooks were living in Pittsford, NY. The Cook family also included Nathan's siblings William Henry, Phebe E., Edward P., and Mary G. Cook. Nathan and his brother, William, enlisted in the Civil War in August, 1862 and both died in October, 1862.
