Civil War veteran Nathan MULFORD Cook of Pittsford, NY

Hi! Desperate for info about Nathan Mulford Cook. Can't find anything on the Cook message board, so I'm trying a longshot that Mulford is a family name. Nathan was born circa April, 1842 in NY, the son of William Henry Cook and Phebe R. Cook, both of whom were also born in NY according to the 1860 census. At that time, the Cooks were living in Pittsford, NY. The Cook family also included Nathan's siblings William Henry, Phebe E., Edward P., and Mary G. Cook. Nathan and his brother, William, enlisted in the Civil War in August, 1862 and both died in October, 1862. If you have any info about this family, please contact me directly at vprofitt@rochester.rr.com. Thanks!

1st wife of John Mulford (1606 - 1686)

All the trees I've found on-line show John Mulford's 2nd wife, Friedeswiede, as the mother of his children, who were born in the 1640's and 1650's.

She was married to William Osborn and busy having Osborn children at the same time John Mulford's children were being born (ref; Savage, James; Savage's " Genealogical Dictionary of the First Settlers of New England...", (Originally published Boston, 1860-1862 in 4 Volumes)Vol.III, page 319)

John Mulford and Mrs Friedeswiede Osborn weren't married until May 1663. Savage says "His[William Osborn]widow married John Mulford of South Hampton, Yorkshire E. Riding" Why this location?)

Does anyone have clues who actually was the mother of John Mulford's children?

Anne

I'm searching for information on a Thomas Mulford born in 1808 in Chemung, New York. He married Louisa Hilster, had several children and then after her death Elsie Rightmore. Around 1860-1870, he moved to Kent, Michigan to follow one of his sons there. He died there in 1896. I believe that his mother's name was Eve. I'm looking for any information anyone might have.

Mulford/Potter, Pluckemin, NJ

Can anyone identify for me the parents and grandparents of Thomas Mulford of Pluckemin (a village in southeastern Bedminster Township, Somerset Co., NJ), who married Elizabeth POTTER and had children William P. (~1805-1880), Samuel, Barnabas T., Eleazar, Mahlon (~1815-1887), Mary, and Mary Elizabeth, all probably born between about 1800 and 1825? Failing that, can anyone tell me which Mulfords, if any, are buried in the Presbyterian Church burial ground in Pluckemin, and what data appears on their stones?

I am trying to tie this Thomas Mulford into a larger overview of the North Jersey Mulfords. I suspect he was a grandson, perhaps even a great-grandson, of Thomas 4 Mulford (1719-1765) (Thomas 3,2, William 1). But I'd like proof, or at least supporting circumstantial evidence. Thanks for any information.

Abram Mulford of Long Island, New York

My 2nd great grandmother was Phebe M. Mulford, b. Abt. 1813 in Sprout Brook, Montgomery Co., New York, and died 27 February 1891 in Cherry Valley, NY. She married Thomas P. Hammond.

According to the "History of Montgomery County (NY)", Phebe's father was "Abram Mulford of Long Island, New York". I have found an Abraham Mulford in Southold, NY and a Phebe Mulford who died in the 1830's (I think), but that was a different Phebe.

Does anyone have any family information on the children of the Long Island Mulford's for the generation of children born about 1813 which could help me identify Phebe's birth family?
Thank you for your help.

She appears in the 1920 census living with her parents and husband in IA, but not in the 1930 census. Everett died 21 Sept 1921 in Des Moines. Marione appears in the 1920 census, living with her grandmother (Maud Somers) and aunt (Marvell Somers) in Chicago, age 10.
Any information about her (birthdate, marriage) would be most helpful. Also interested in marriage date for her parents and details of their deaths.

Edward Aplin Mulford Jr & III and maybe IV, Chicago 1880 to 1900

Looking for information on the family of Edward A Mulford Jr, b 1851 Caseyville, KY, d 1896 Evanston. He was a railroad ticket broker, principal in the firm Mulford & McKensey. He married Annie Childs Reeves (1851 St Louis prob c. 1930 La Jolla CA). There were three children, Edward III (August 1875) who may have been a traveling salesman of roofing products; Elizabeth Cecelia Mulford (Nov 1876), probably married Harry Daugherty, and Austin Everett Mulford (May 1886) who may have become an actor. I have a hint that III had a son Edward Aplin Mulford IV who lived in CA. It is all hints, no firm information. Can anyone confirm any of it, or add any details?

Hi,
My lineage stems from the Mulfords who settled East Hampton, L.I., N.Y. in 1680. (There is still a house out there "The Mulford House," which is now a museum. I would be 13th generation. My grandmother's maiden name was Lilie Mulford. She had a sister, Hazel, who lived in Navesink, N.J. and a brother, Ralph, who was a famous race car driver in his day. Is there anyone out there from our line of the family? If so, I would really like to hear from you. Thanks!
Carol Agramonte

William m Elizabeth Marker 1868-PA

For a long while, I have thought that "my" Elizabeth Marker was the one who married William Mulford in 1868. Now I'm not so sure, and would like to prove it.

The info I have:
William K. MULFORD b Nov 1847 PA (this is all I know about him)
"My" Elizabeth Marker born 1848 (Delaware Co?) PA
daughter of William Palmer Marker (b 1819) and Margaret (Archer?) (b 1819).
Elizabeth's siblings (all born in Delaware Co PA as far as I know):
Charles Frank b abt 1842
Louisa b Mar 1844
Wesley H b Aug 1946
William A. b 1850/1851
Ella b abt 1859
Henry B. b abt 1858 (not certain about actual parentage - may be son of William P. Marker, may not)

Elizabeth (Lizzie) m William Mulford 1868, they lived in Philadelphia. Elizabeth's brother William lived with them from at least 1900 on, but on census records, William's birthdate changes wildly every ten years. I would like to find a marriage record for Elizabeth (Lizzie) Marker who married William K. Mulford - I'm hoping to establish her parentage.

If you have any information on this William Mulford in Philadelphia, I would appreciate any information you might have on his spouse.
Thanks very much! I am willing to share information and sources if you are interested in this Marker family.

Thank you very much!
Hello cousin: your name does not sound familiar, but your family sure does. William R. Mulford, married Mary LeAnna Shorter. She died in 1899 and is buried in the Burden Cemetery, Cowley County, Kansas. William left Kansas and went to Red Oak, Iowa where his sister lived. He died in the early 1920's and is buried there beside his last (third) wife in the Evergreen Cemetery. I put up a marker for him about ten years ago. Do you happen to have a picture of William Mulford? I have one of Mary L. Shorter and her sister. I have the lineages of both Mulford and Shorter back a ways. I do not have a scanner, so if interested in a lot of information, you will have to write me (snail mail). My address is: John R. Dulin - 110 Mary St. Henderson, Texas 75652

I HAVE TWO CHARMING PICTURES TAKEN IN THE EARLY 1900'S THAT WERE AMONG MY GRANDMOTHERS THINGS. THEY ARE OF BROTHER AND SISTER CHARLES AND MAY MULFORD AS YOUNG ADULTS. FROM WHAT I HAVE I ASSUME THEY WERE FRIENDS OF MY GRANDPARENTS IN ELDON, IOWA WHO MOVED TO OHIO. IF ANYONE HAS THEM IN THEIR LINE I WOULD BE HAPPY TO GIVE THE PICTURES TO YOU.

In a book, I found a school paper, written in 1901 by a Lura Mulford, a third grader, who attended Dilbert Ave. School. This would put her being born somewhere around 1890? If this is your relation and would like to have it, please e-mail. I do not want anything for it.
