I have a wonderful old picture of James K. Polk Murphy. I believe he was my great-great grandfather. One of his daughters was my great grandmother Mattie Murphy Blake, who had 2 daughters- Arrie(DOB 1900) and Annie(DOB 1897). Both daughters married Vaughn brothers and resided in Alabama until their deaths. On the back of the picture, it states: "James K. Polk Murphy, served Civli War Between the States, died 1911 at the age 69". In 2001, a post was made by Carole Parish under Surnames > Murphy Richmond and states
"was me grandfather, born in Rutherford Co, TN Mother was Sarah Lahue, father James K. Polk Murphy, uncle was Archibald Murphy of NC. Rich disappeared about 1922-23, prehaps to Va to live with brother B. Murphy who died 1955. May..."
I am trying to find any information on James K. Polk Murphy from her or anyone.
